Unfolding: The World of Art Knives

Well, folks, that about wraps up your preview of The World of Art Knives.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and seriously, there is so much more that can be said about this book, but it's best you find out for yourself so YOU can say those things! Hopefully to people who may not know about custom knives.

When you do get the book, it's a great experience showing someone for the first time, the world WE live in:)

Now that the book is shipping, anyone else got a copy?

I'd like to hear what you think... Your comments are most welcome!
I am always on the lookout for feedback that usually provokes
new ideas... :)

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

The knife that caught my attention the most is actually the one you used to open the package. That is one cool knife.

I received my copy yesterday and have been browsing and reading on and off for the last day. I really enjoyed the articles. The quality of the book is great, thick paper and very sharp (and detailed) photos.

The only thing I found a little bit disappointing is that some of the knives (like the Hancocks) were a "repeat" from a previous book.

David, all in all to me this book is in the top 3 of your publications, and at the top as it comes to quality.:cool: So congratulations on a job (more than) well done.:thumbup:

at first, I felt the same way, Marcel.
However, after spending time with the book, I saw these not as duplicated images but images complementary too, and intrinsic with, the stream that the book follows.

I also learned that I simply cannot see enough of Tim Hancock's work:thumbup:

Which Hancocks are shown again?

I haven't gotten mine yet, but am gonna order the book with in the next few days.

^lots of nice ones!;):D

Hello Jon,

Dr. John D. Boldan has an amazing collection of Tim Hancock's
knives. He asked to display a few of them also in my new book,
together with several other amazing private collections.

I gladly recreated 9 pages with Tim's knives chosen from his collection
and presented them proudly, for all the world to enjoy the knife art
of a master bladesmith...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

In my opinion, it's the finest book of it's kind.
And should make a very positive impression on the custom knife community.

Bravo David

Another of the contributing writers, and my close friend, Don Guild has more than a few copies. He is sending me a copy of this book to admire and enjoy. :)

I'll be sure to comment. Looking forward to this.

I really like Don Guild's section, and his philosophy in general when it comes to knives:thumbup:

Yes, what an ambassador for custom knives and such a fine individual.

Don and Phil Lobred have done so, so much for the custom knife community over many years. They are inspiring.

Hi Guys
just got Mr Darom's new book from Mr Hancock and i must say it was fun viewing and reading about the knives.
It was nice to see more Collections and knife makers in this new book.
i was pleasantly surprise to find that DDD was born in bombay[mumbai] india.thats my hometown.
:)
I had purchased all My previous DDD books from amazon and i must say that this original publishing from DDD had much better photo quality.
i was informed by Mr Darom that the amazon books are all Chinese prints and i really wouldnt recommend anyone to buy them.
big difference.
Loved Kevin's amazing collection and Bob's Curt erickson on the cover.hope to get a similar knife for myself soon.
:)
Happy Reading!
