Unofficial Rat Chat!

I have been smoking for the better half of my life. I just got my but handed to me on a hike up a lil mountain today. This chick handled it like it was nothing as she is a fitness nut; I kept up as best as I could and I think I dropped a lung and a testicle on the way up. I really need to quit.

Congrats fellas and keep up the goodwork.

Nice to know I'm in sympathetic company...sort of. lol. I'll stay strong. I'm too damn stubborn to give in. However, I'm right there with Jeff. If old Doc West ever says, "Dylan, you nailed one too many Brazilian women. You got some fish-be-rot on you that won't wash off.", I'm going straight to the gas station and getting me a pack of my smack, old faithful, Lucky Strikes non-filter (the way God intended it).

Even after two years it is not easy. I am not physically addicted to it anymore, of course, but I still think about it every once in a while. Once it gets into my mind I can't stop thinking about it for a good part of the day. As a matter of fact, I thought about relapsing the other night. The only thing that kept me inside was that it was raining cats and dogs and I didn't feel like getting wet that late at night.

I enjoy the odd cigar once or twice a year - part of my bush thing. However I do notice that after the trip is done and I'm sitting on my back porch and such - I will get this little thought popping in my head about how nice a cigar would be right now. About the only thing that saves me from lighting up at that point is that I'm too lazy to go the store to get one. I guess that just tells me that I'm inclined to be an addict.

I don't have any cravings any more for the nicotine but I still have a physical addiction and catch myself reaching for my shirt pocket every so often for a cigarette. Like I said, I would go back to smoking in a second if I knew I was about to check out. I am damn glad I never started smoking crack or snorting lines of coke. I was so addicted to nicotine that if I started doing drugs you couldn't make enough to keep me supplied. I'd be a mainlining fool, crumpled up in a cardboard box on a street corner begging for dimes to get my next fix.

I haven't smoked in 1 year and 4 days! I don't have the physical addiction anymore, but once in a while I get really pissed about something, (usually humans) and really, really, want to light one up. But I don't. I shoot up heroine every first Saturday of the month, it calms me down....nah, just kidding.
I feel fitter, healthier and like the idea that my daughter is growing up in a house where nobody smokes. So keep it up and stay healthy! Oh, and btw, it saves money too which you can use to buy another RAT knife!!!!

LOL, I know what you mean Jeff. I have a very obsessive personality type. It has helped me get very proficient in some areas, but I could see myself getting addicted to drugs rather easily. I am an addict in many ways. Being a Personal trainer for a number of years I would say that I am addicted to exercise and training. If I don't get my endorphine buzz I'm pretty grumpy. :D
Stay strong on the cigs Fellas, dying from cancer sucks. Not a pleasant way to go. :D

Speaking of addictions, im going to Smokey mountain knife works, supposedly the worlds largest knife show place.

:grumpy: its going to be so hard to look at the knives and restrain myself from buying some.
 any suggestions?

 wow by looking online I don't think they have any rat cutlery knives, thats pretty odd. Oh well now my wallet feels much safer.

Yea hwpaintballer i love the knife works. one of my favorite places. that and the cabellas in Michigan, dude that place is HUGE.

I'm thinking my favorite place that I have ever been would have to be Tinker Airforce base armory in Oklahoma. Long story short I spent a week at OU dorms and got to go to Tinker's armory and hold and inspect some weapons. ( they was agianst a 16 year old firing the weapons, so holding them and looking down the sites was about the extent of fun I had with them)

Coolest place I've ever been was the EOD range during training (not my training, their training). Shape charges rule!

I wouldn't mind a beer or four right now. I know it's kinda early for some folks, but it's quittin' time somewhere and where ever that is, I'm on their schedule. ;)

Gone fishing with my RC-4. hope to bring back some pics of it in action. Oh and Dylside im taking my buddy Sam Adams with me ill down one for you guys.
