Unusual things you (had to) use your knife for

Just for kicks, I use my sebenza and southard as fork and knife...

Knives are just an extension of my hand though, been a sushi chef for almost a decade.

I lanced a large, angry boil behind my ear with a Spyderco Endura. I sharpened it, made sure it had no burrs, cleaned it, and wrapped it in paper except for the final inch of the blade. ZIP. Problem solved!

That's pretty darned unusual. I tried to buy a proper scalpel but couldn't find one and this was before the net.

it did happen...PICTURE
I was thirsty, feeling weak and that cork was not coming out...mans best friend to the rescue

Every winter I have ice jammed in the tracks of my sliding glass door so I use crappy Sheffield to pry it out also I use the spine of my Mtech mt 151 as a meat tenderizer

Unusual....
I used:
my ZT0350 to break a coconut and to open an aluminum can
my PM2 to cut 15mm width electrical wires (the kind made for railway application)

At Christmas Eve service at our church we were having trouble getting a special candle to light. The wick was nearly flush with the already melted wax. I asked our Pastor Carol if she wanted me to dig a little wax out with my knife. She said sure and proceeded to watch me. It was my large CF Sebenza and when I opened it she said 'that's a fancy looking knife' and I said thank you, it's certainly more than I need but I enjoy having it. She then told me she always carries her little multitool on her key chain (which I never knew). I asked her what kind it was but she wasn't sure.

Used my pocket knife to cut my steak for dinner tonight. First time I ve used my pocket knife to eat a meal. Used A Sebenza 25 and it worked well.

Used my Spyderco Manix 2 (blue translucent handle) at a dinner party ..... Too many people, not enough steak knives. Gave my steak knife to someone sitting next to me. Used my Manix on one great big piece o' meat. Cuts better than any steak knives I've got at home! A real laser!

The other day i used my Izula to scrape out gunk on the inside of a floor drain at my restaurant. That thing was GROSS afterwards. I almost took a picture of it for you knife knuts but i was too busy. Also probably need to sharpen it and give ot a good clp bath.

We rented a lodge at a local park for a sledding party for my daughters and their friends. The hasp that secured the building was an iron bar 3 feet long with a slot to pass over an eye bolt. It would not budge. My kershaw volt ii ss popped it open without even so much as a scratch.

Most unusual cut I've made was with my My Lionsteel 116T.

It saved some dudes life last summer. Some drunk guy had taken the cord from his shorts and hung himself from a fence publicly. Still no idea why. I just walked up to him and cut the cord. Cops arrived shortly after and took it from there. there's still a micro chip in the blade from where it hit the steel fence when I cut the cord.

Although, I ended up using my Delica 4 to cut some rope and weeds underwater, in a lake a few years back. It was pretty fun, actually. Not a spot of rust afterwards, either. Gotta love VG-10.

Cleaning years of corrosion off my battery terminal connections, to find a flat spot for the vice grips to grab.

Had a sanrenmu/land 6261,while at the store a little girl around a year old got her toe stuck in the shopping cart, we were able to bend the bars enough with it that we could fit in a larger metal tube and get her toe out. Sold the knife now to a friend to which he gave it to someone. Shame They wont know the story behind that little knife

I used my Kershaw 7000 to cut the throat of a bat I found by our office door....someone had stepped on it, it couldn't fly and was obviously in pain/dying. I just put it out of its misery.

The spring on that knife broke a week later (as they all did on that model) and like an idiot I sent it in to Kershaw knowing it was discontinued and never got it back. They gave me a voucher but I just wish I could have that knife back. Best folder I ever owned, slim and razor sharp, disappeared in my pocket, and fired like a freaking rocket every single time. I still miss it

Ok, I shouldnt admit this but here it goes.....

In college, 1999, the day after a really rough night of partying I was walking from the dining hall to my residence. As I was passing the library I decided I need to flatulate! Well the beer shits were in full effect! GAMBLED... LOST! Waddled into the library bathroom and had a dumb and dumber-esque bathroom experience. Looked down at my drawers and they were unsalvagable! Well I wasnt about to take my shoes off so I whipped out my trusty pocket knife (I cant even remember what model it was. Might have been a Leek, could have been a Gerber EZ Out.) and cut down the sides of my boxers to remove them.

How embarrassing!

I use the tip of a sharp knife to cutt a cross hatch pattern in guitar picks so I dont drop them. It creates a grip better than any currently available. I have used my knives as a screw driver, prybar, surgical tool for serious splinters and one epic ingrown toenail (nearly peed on myself that hurt so bad) as well as numerous other incredibly stupid things that I wont even admit to. Sure there were better tools for the job. But Im a crocodile dundee fan at heart.
