Finally bought my first traditional folder, other than the annual Traditional Forum knife. I can't remember which thread I read, but there was a discussion of the Bose designed Case Bose knives collaborations. It got me curious, so I decided to look at what was out there in the on-line stores. Unfortunately, I found a G10 Backpocket that caught my eye. All the rest of the Bose colabs designed Case knives looked nice, but this one made me breakdown and buy it. Here are a few pics. BTW: This is definitely big.

The G10 kind of makes up for Micarta not being selected for this year's knife. ;)

I had no idea the Backpocket knives were as big as they were, until seeing one in person.

Very nice!

What a pansy. You couldn't resist:eek:
Now youv'e done it. It's over!
Great looking knife. They just might start multiplying,

Nice pics & cool knife.I didn't realize it had such a pronounced swedge.I like it.

As for the size, since pertinux mentioned it, here it is next to the 2011 Forum EO.

Thanks. My shooting location looks much better in the pics than in reality. Its in our side yard on top of our recycle bin.

See?! ... Wow.

(Also: thanks.)

How does the knife feel to you in-hand, especially given the proportion of the blade to the handle? Visually, the blade looks small(ish), but I'd think in use the larger handle would feel very comfortable, especially for harder cutting or whittling tasks, when one needs to exert very specific pressure (as opposed to slicing tape or, say, animal skin).

The handle is just right for my hand. The blade seems proportioned right. The perspective in the pics may not show it too well, though. So far I've only used it to cut some ham for lunch. Did just fine. :D

I want one too, in G-10 maybe
looks really good  and the as ground blade is nice, i like it

Every time I see a Black G10 Case knife my jaw drops. The stuff looks so good on traditional knives and Case really knows how to make it shine. Just beautiful.

Awesome score!

I really like the knife. To me, G10 and the design kind of pushes the definition of "traditional." Not a criticism of the knife in any way. It's just kind of a modern "traditional," if that makes sense. In other words, it wouldn't look odd with a thumbstud and a lock on it.

Case did do a nice job with that G10. Looks like they chose material with a somewhat higher resin content.

Congrats!

Thats awesome, beautiful knife.

A buddy of mine carries a Backpocket with the Chestnut and CV combo.
He butchered three deer with it last year, the knife was as rock solid and as beautiful as could be. I love it when a company just gets a knife perfect.
I'll pick one up..... someday when I don't have a few others already on the way.
