UPDATE: Couldn't Resist - Case Backpocket

Have had the Chestnut bone CV since it came out a few years ago and then got the raindrop Damascus. You get used to the blade handle proportion and come to appreciate it for the excellent balance and feel when in use. The somewhat larger flat handle works perfectly in the back pocket of jeans next to your wallet; it is my favorite Bose design and I carry it often. It is hard to put my finger on it but this is a very comfortable knife not just in the physical sense.
Those scales are beautiful as is the ebony, one of them is in my future.

Since it's been brought back....

Anyone have the sawcut caramel bone with the panama blade? Pretty nice looking knife.

What would a Case Backpocket thread be without one in the old stand by - Yellow Delrin.

Yep. Add to this list of must buys. Love the yellow delrin!

Can anyone comment on the Backpocket vs. GEC #23?

-- I like that you can get a clip blade in a BP, in CV even.
-- Seems, though, like the #23 would fill the hand better.
-- OTOH, the #23 with the drop point seems not unlike a big Sodbuster.

Thoughts?

I am really liking the BP (and Panama trapper). I just got the CV in the mail today. I also have the Carhart version in my tool bag at work, but that one's not as pretty as these. Hopefully one day I'll find a Bose original I can afford (not likely). Quality on all these is spot on.

I used to have a 23, and it was nice, but it was a very thick knife (2 blade) and had a very stout pull. The BPs are nice and slim

Could I see a side by side and top down alongside a Large Sodbuster, and an Opinel 8? These look like something I might buy at some point to carry better than a soddie.

I have this CV Chestnut model. It is one of the best looking Case knives I own. The F&F is superb, as are most of the Bose inspired Case production models. Despite the size of this knife I carry mine in my front pocket. It is a thin package, that clip blade is a very graceful design. All in all I would give it a big !

Man, these weren't even on my radar till I came upon the beauties in this thread---now I'm feeling the familiar tug! :o

I have one in Ebony, carries small for a big knife. The F&F on mine is pretty good. Sometimes the first runs are excellent with subsequent ones not as good.

Love the design, would like to own one. The 154CM version would be EXCELLENT!
Edit to add, the chestnut CV in post 51 is just beautiful!

Great shot of a really nice-looking knife! I had the fever last week and camethisclose to pulling the trigger on one. CV chestnut BPs are not too common but I tracked down one dealer that has them in stock.

But then I got to thinking that maybe I'd find it too big for EDC. So I went in the complete opposite direction and ordered a CV chestnut.... peanut. I may revisit the BP notion someday.

Does anyone happen to know if the "deep canyon dark red bone" version is really deep/dark red, or actually lighter/more "pinkish"?

Thanks,

Andrew
