UPDATE: Couldn't Resist - Case Backpocket

I hadn't even considered one of these, until this thread. Now, I have 3 of them being watched on a certain auction site. Hoping for a CV Chestnut, or Deep canyon chestnut stainless, or the G10 stainless.

Great looking knife!

Well, this Backpocket really looks nice. I´ve also seen some of them. I´d prefer thoose without an end cap bettern than with. But that´s personal taste. The blade seems a little small for the big handle. But when it fits right and good in hands, why not. I´d like to have one in Chestnut Bone CV ;)

Kind regards
Andi

Hm, I haven't bought a knife in month... but darn this case/bose backpocket is tempting... maybe in ebony?
I don't think I can resist either.

Congrats on not being able to resist. Beautiful knife.

I love larger single blade slipjoints ( like the Gec 73) and this seems to be to me anyways a lower priced alternative as of know I've got my eye on the chesnut bone/cv. However I don't like carrying knives in my backpocket and would likely carry it either in a belt sheath or loose in a front pocket .

I finally got around to taking a pic of this knife in hand. It definitely fills my hand.

Thanks. Not exactly sure what snap is (still learning about Trad knives), but if you mean how it opens and closes, it has a reasonably strong spring (not a nail breaker, but still a strong pull), a nice half-stop and opens crisply.

Nice looking knife. How is the snap on it.

I think if the blade were just a little bit taller (from edge to spine), it would cure the looking out of proportion issue I have with that model. I have to say though, you guys are not making it easy..

I don't think the pictures do it justice. The handle gives a very substantial grip and the blade is a beautiful slicer. Thin, pointy, and very sharp.

Here it is next to a modern folder of about the same size.

The Backpocket is slimmer but doesn't give up much in terms of handle size or blade length to what some have called its modern equivalent.

I thought the same thing when I opened it a few minutes ago. I kind of looks like the edge was reground to correct chipping, etc.

That mailman of yours has Got to be replaced!
Everyone else got theirs Four Years Ago...

Oh wait, this is just a Case of thread necromancy.

Lol, had to make the Case pun, please don't mind it.

Since this has been raised, I will also raise the blade height issue. If it had the blade shape found in a sodbuster or a fuller height with this clip, I would be all over them, and likely have a few...

But it just looks too "off"...

Nice knife, just not for me.

I really like the Backpocket. It's one of the only Case knives that really interests me these days. I have a few. The bone model is 154CM steel, which is pretty nifty.
