I just PayPal'ed Mr. Eichenseer the $150.00 he maintains I owe him for supplies in good faith. I can relate to Kyle's disappointment that I did not follow through with the project... I'm probably overlooking the time he put into practicing making parts and planning the customizations before he realised them in damascus.

I feel it is only fair to remove the financial factor in the dispute, with or without any explanation on his part. I'm sure Mr. Eichenseer is an honorable man, and will want to send the knife and any supplies to the address I supplied right away.

I'll let the forumites know when the parcel does arrive to the aforementioned address.

Well, I don't know either of you fella's.I don't believe it is outrageous to ask for an accounting for what "supplies" make up the $150.00 in dispute.
The fact he refuses to communicate with you for this simple request doesn't show favorably on him as a knifemaker.Holding your knife hostage when he has the "supplies" in question anyway sounds pretty childish imho.Your certainly more than reasonable, because he would never have gotten a dime from me without an accounting of the supplies/costs.Good Luck

Thanks for the input, TOMBSTONE...

Being that I wasn't getting anywhere with my request for an accounting, I decided to completely comply with Mr. Eichenseer's request to "put up or shut up." If he's a man of his word and honorable, he'll send out the knife today...

Kyle Eichenseer was PayPal'd on September 28, 2004, and in the PayPay message, I gave him an address in the U.S. in which to send the knife and the $200 of "supplies" he purchased for the knife... On 'another knife related forum', he publicly admitted having had received the funds...

More than one month later, I still have not received the $400 knife and supplies. I'm a bit SUSPECT of Mr. Eichenseer's intentions to say the very least!

On that other "knife related forum" Mr. Eichenseer stated he had send you the shipping number. I think you should relate all the info, not just what supports your statement.

I never received an e-mail from Eich pertaining to him having had sent out the package, nor do I have any shipping number, so how might I be able to relate it?

I welcome you to post any information about when it was sent out, the name of the carrier, and the shipping number. I've waited over a month with not a word from Eich by either e-mail, or PM. I PM'd him, and sent a few e-mails with no response.

The last I heard from Kyle was when he confirmed payment on "the other forum", and called me a 'choad'...!

I can no longer log in to "the other knife related site", so I assume that I've been banned. I'm suspect that Kyle has no intention of returning my knife and $200 worth of "supplies". Indded, Caveat Emptor!

I'm sure that by now Kyle knows that I've related that I have not received an e-mail from him with information "about the package". If he is truly interested in being honest, I ask him to post the particulars here.

If I understand the situation correctly, had he sent the package properly, we wouldn't be discussing the information about it at all. It seems as if he is determined to stall as long as possible for what I cannot see as anything but childish purposes, but there comes a point when you might as well charge him for theft.

Shortly after the wheels have been put in motion, you should find him more amenable to ending his silly game.

uhm. to me, DrdDan has been MORE than reasonable and fair.
He's out of knife and money, and still talk of an "honarable man" .. well, i'll surely will do deals with drDan, and surely will not with the other.

i mean, at least, with a person so polite and correct, even if he could be wrong (and he seems not) , a public explanation is due..

regards, sorry for my wroten english.

Eichenseer resending the tracking information shouldn't be very difficult.

It would also indicate if the package was shipped, received (by whom) or MIA.

If it is MIA. . . .and the parcel was insured for the necessary value. . . .claims could then be submitted. Again, not very difficult.

the way the matter is progressing is making me very sad.... :(

I hope it works out for everyone in the end....

It is my understanding that the package was sent. The knifemaker is question has had serious surgery, and has not been up and running health wise. This is some of the details you happend to leave out when posting this originally. He has a good name on the "other" forum and there is no useful purpose to rip you off and ruin his good name.Obviously,This is one case were two people couldn't possibly rub each other the wrong way any worse. It does suck waiting all this time for your knife, but when you post a complaint you should try to provide all the details about the situation imho.

P.S. You may try e-mailing someone who is in contact with him to relay you the tracking info, that might not have gotten through in an e-mail.

TOMBSTONE, Dan was in contact with others there, but got nowhere for trying. It isn't up to him to know all the reasons Eich hasn't gotten back to him. He has repeatedly invited him to tell his side, fill in the details, send the knife, provide information to help track the knife ... we don't KNOW that the knife was sent.

Yes, they are now rubbing each other the wrong way. Dan can't end that. Eich can.

Other than possibly revealing the real world names of the people involved, would there be any danger in publicly posting the tracking number, say, in this forum or the "other" forum? Seems to me right now that we have a case of "he said/she said" with regards to the tracking number issue.
