Am I the only one who seems to have gotten banned from the other forum for having an opinion here? Too funny. Isn't that what some of them fought for? for me as an American to have and be able to state any opinion that I choose? Just not around them I guess. That makes a lot of sense. Ah well.

Boy you guys just don't quit. Oilman you have an opinion but you state it in such a manner at times as to be rude. For instance you managed in this thread to call anyone who goes "over there" a jackal, despite the fact that several of us are members here there and at KFC. IIRC you got banned for being rude but not for having an opinion. Why bring it up your disputes with the "other forum" after several pleas to leave this as a dispute thread between a knife collector and a knife modifier? Seems pointless to continue here. If you have a problem with the "other forum" start another thread and articulate your issues there, but leave this one to Dan.

maestrodawg1, I reread what I had posted and it reads like I think all USN members are one way but I didn't mean it like that.:footinmou Or even all the members that took part of the thread in question. Some just surprised me by who they were and the stance they were taking. If Mr. Eichenseer would just get DrDan the shipping details after the knife is really sent this would all be better. Even if Dr.Dan was the biggest jagoff in the world he would go away if he received his knife and materials. Does that sound unreasonable? It shouldn't.
To any USN members I offended accidentally I apologize, as that was not my intent. To the small group that thinks it's funny to give customers the run around after said customer politely asks for a status of a return I hope the same happens to you so you can appreciate the position DrDan is in.

I am pretty sure he knows what is going on. There are enough people that frequent both forums that I am sure he has been filled in. I sent him a PM this morning asking that he give me the tracking information so that I could post it here, but he has yet to respond. He is definitely back on the forum again as he has posted there quite a bit in the last couple of days.

I've received no word from Kyle and I'm pretty sure that he has gotten the PM that I sent him. It seems that he doesn't give a rat's behind about this whole situation.
Couldnt have said it better!!! If all one can go on is expierences and in the spirit of sharing mine. I have had large $$$ dealing with the man at question in the past. My product was always fowarded PRIOR to even receiveing payment...guess thats just the kind of guy he is

Russ, the simple fact is that this is exactly akin to your situation with Newt Livesay, excepting Livesay blew sunshine up your nether regions without stating that you were a lying punk and that he was going to try and have customs snag your knife by labeling it as such.
Prior to my excommunication from the "secret treehouse," I recall the thread regarding to this matter in question going to the "troll hole" - a fair demonstration of the matter's concern to all involved at the Usual Suspect Network by the ownership and administration, or really the lack thereof, when a "respected member" acts like this. Dan wa taking a LOT of hits for his concern that his knife and his money were stuck in the middle of the Nevada desert with no return on the horizon. I seem to recall the user-agreements at any of these imaginary communities being pretty dead-set against promoting/ condoning/ supporting illegal activities. Theft is still illegal even in Vegas - the casino has to win your house fair and square. This is the part about the "usn bashing" that is going on here some folks don't care for, but somewhere it's gotta be said. Cross-forum wars or other such nonsense be damned, if the "management" supports this guy and you support the "management," do the math.
Ban him, guys, for what good it will do, but Dan, you ought to consider filing fraud/ theft charges - this is interstate commerce and international commerce. I have NO idea about the international enforcement, but I am betting the governing/ regulating body regarding shipping will not be pleased about this in the USA.

It's not a dispute between a vendor and a customer, if the guy has your money and your property, has produced no example of actual work being performed (has he?) and then claims addl expenses, demands more money, still no results, if it's property we are talking about theft or at least extortion.

All he's gotta do is produce a digital photo to start, or just ship the damned thing back and NOT do something really stupid like draw the customs-guy's attention to it claiming it is a purchase and an expensive one at that. No, he just needs to send it back marked with the equivalent of "repair completed/ returning to owner."
Tell ya what, I retract my statement of THIEF when the knife gets back to the owner, deal?

is there an update? this issue is making me real sad, as I frequent both boards and have been following this matter - I hope the matter can be resolved to the satisfaction of BOTH parties....
keeping my fingers crossed....so that Kyle can concentrate on his recovery (and torching - cool!), and Dan can get his knives and stuff....

my problem was with a knife maker...I addressed the issue with the maker...not bash his forum of which I was a member BIG diff. IMHO...loandr.
