off topic ... but no one has asked it yet ...
could a limited edition BF run be done for the ZT-56x ?
maybe a ZT-562
carbon fiber scales, tiger stripe, tasteful BF markings.
it seems like the biggest hurdle here is the price.
one of the great appeals of the skyline is its low price and still made in america.
... maybe people would be quicker to pay premium $$ for a high end knife.
Price point is ultimately going to stop a lot of people from making any purchase. When you have a knife that has a MSRP of $325 for standard models, there's no way 600 pieces are going to move on the forum, especially when people are complaining that they can't get Walmart pricing on a limited edition with premium steel.
Most of the folks who are voicing complaints don't seem to understand that when a knife is being made by the hundreds of thousands, you can get economy of scale bringing down the pricing. Big difference between 100,000 and 600, especially when those 600 have premium steel, a different grind, and different handles. It seems like most people would be comfortable paying in the 75-85 dollar range, a little more than double what a regular Skyline costs most places. 110 is more than triple the street price of 34 dollars that you see at most places. I think most folks understand it will cost more than Walmart price.
Just talked to Thomas. He's finding out pricing on various options. I will update you guys on that when I find out more, it will take him a day or two
