Light Blue G-10
Elmax
Deep pocket clip/wire clip

I've seen a lot of good ideas here. I think the bottom line it needs to be different and it will cost us to be different

My suggestion is a damascus blade

Damascus is so . . . 2008. :)

I agree having some options with prices would be good, of course not too many, but 5-6 combinations of handle color (possibly material?) and blade steel. I concur on avoiding bead blasted finish. S30V or better would be great, but 154cm is good if it keeps costs down.

Agreed on blue G10, silver twill might make it look more elegant without really increasing cost. It would be great to see what carbon fiber scales and a higher end steel like elmax would cost. If we're talking something like $130 that would almost certainly be more attractive to me than $110 with g10 and S30V.

Just wanted to say I prefer "smurf" blue like the m390 paramilitary 2 sprint run, but light or pale blue is fine too if that's the consensus. Silver/blue twill might be a good compromise.

Seems a bit high for a skyline with s30v and g10. I definitely understand the cost increase for limited runs, and the risk that one takes when having to set something like this up. If we could look into a CF handle I'd be more than happy to be in at around that price range, but for a special color G10 and a decent steel upgrade, don't know if I'd pay $110 for a limited edition skyline. Definitely liking the idea so far, and can't wait to see what you guys all decide on, and then seeing if I'll get in on this.

Elmax and FFG I'm loving it. I too feel that the price is high, but I'm liking it more if the 20% discount can happen. I only paid $80 shipped for my 0350 in Dec. That's closer to what this knife should sell for IMO.

Make it a slicer with true FFG not just partial please. FFG all the way to the spine like the FFG Delica.

I love Kershaws but....... I am always hoping they will slice like a Spyderco.:o

off topic ... but no one has asked it yet ...

could a limited edition BF run be done for the ZT-56x ?
maybe a ZT-562
carbon fiber scales, tiger stripe, tasteful BF markings.

it seems like the biggest hurdle here is the price.
one of the great appeals of the skyline is its low price and still made in america.
... maybe people would be quicker to pay premium $$ for a high end knife.

Price point is ultimately going to stop a lot of people from making any purchase. When you have a knife that has a MSRP of $325 for standard models, there's no way 600 pieces are going to move on the forum, especially when people are complaining that they can't get Walmart pricing on a limited edition with premium steel.

It seems like most people would be comfortable paying in the 75-85 dollar range, a little more than double what a regular Skyline costs most places. 110 is more than triple the street price of 34 dollars that you see at most places. I think most folks understand it will cost more than Walmart price.

Most of the folks who are voicing complaints don't seem to understand that when a knife is being made by the hundreds of thousands, you can get economy of scale bringing down the pricing. Big difference between 100,000 and 600, especially when those 600 have premium steel, a different grind, and different handles.

I would be interested in one. Like some of the others, 14C28N steel would be fine with me. I will take any color available. I will say that the possibility of a deep carry pocket clip interests me.

Yea. I think you are right Spark. Using myself as an example, knives are just tools to me. Sure I love collecting them. But I use most all of them. So, I am looking at it from that perspective. It being a limited edition is nice. But, I am looking at it more from a users perspective, rather than a collectors perspective. So I may be more biased toward the lower end of the spectrum.

If it can have a lowrider clip I am in. Ghost G10 would be my preference but I need that lowrider clip!

Just talked to Thomas. He's finding out pricing on various options. I will update you guys on that when I find out more, it will take him a day or two

I think the whole point of the knife is to be exclusive to BF. I dont want to see a g-10 choice that has already been produced elsewhere. Same goes for blade steel, damascus would be cool but its been done before. I would buy one if it was exclusive and this is the only place it will exist.

I would love carbon fiber. even lightning strike carbon fiber.
higher end steel.
I would pay more than 110 if the knife is awesome.

That is what I am waiting for before I can make a decision. At a price point of $110 for g10 and S30V I don't have any interest. If M390 is offered for that I am in, especially with a 20% ($22) if pre order sell out...count me in for two.

Really not interested in paying more for premium material scales, a strikingly cool color g10 is good for me. I would like to see color options before a voicing a preference of which color.

Thanks for the effort to make this possibly come about.

I don't care a lot on the steel choice either as long as its something high end. I do agree with some others (as much as I like Damascus) the steel should be something different. In the same vein I would love to see an orange handle, but its been done... Maybe orange and black?!

That said my vote is for moonglow, CF or blue to match the Para as others have said. I vote no purple as well. I would like to see the scales be carved like some of the mods I have seen for the original skyline, but I know a lot of people are turned off by that and you gotta go with what will sell.

The price isn't such an issue if it is different and high quality.

Sure, walmart and other big businesses can offer much lower than MSRP because of the economy of scale, but even looking at MSRP, this seems like quite a bit. The regular 1760 has an MSRP of $75. $110 is $35 over that. If we go and look at the 1670 Blur, it has an MSRP at $110, and the S30V steel is $140, $30 over the normal and the Blur has a larger, heavier blade than the Skyline. So one would think that the this would only add $25 or so to the retail value, bringing it up to about $100. Not sure how much a deep carry PC costs, but if it is on the 1555TI for only $50 retail, it cannot be that expensive.

I just think that what was listed and the cost do not match up, but if that is what they are then oh well.

I really like the steels being talked about. For the scales would paperstone be an option worth talking about? Also could we make the thumbstud more usable. Maybe put a groove for your thumb in the scale and change up the thumbstuds a little. I think it would make swallowing the price easier if it felt more custom. I dig the deep pocket wire clip idea!

The final price of the knife is no where near settled. Look who is stepping up to bat to make this happen. I KNOW we will not be taken advantage of. The price will be appropriate for what we will be getting.
