UPS, PayPal, Credit Card Companies, and Dumb A-S People

I agree that the blame falls squarely on UPS's shoulders. It is their responsibility to retrieve the item after they made the mistake of delivering to the wrong address (you have proof of this). It is not your responsibility to correct their mistake. You paid them for a service that you never received--delivery to an address that you specified and should at the very least be compensated for that.

This sucks big time and I hope you find your way out of the hole that UPS put you in.

For you guys who refuse to do business with UPS or FedEx--do you also not buy from places that use those carriers? I try to avoid them at all cost, but sometimes I find myself needing something from a company that will only send via UPS or FedEx.

Ahhhh UPS. You know, I know quite a few UPS delivery guys. I think
they're pretty good people.
That aside UPS the company is a creation
of the anti Christ.

Bad Guy,

My heart bleeds for you, especially with a new child in the family. I trust that you get a just resolution and aren't left out of pocket.

In trying to find even a tiny silver lining in this cloud, I came up with this:

The principal reason I so enjoy this forum is the integrity displayed by everyone. I'm not the type to send money half way round the world to buy unseen items from total strangers, but I do it here with confidence. The effort you have exerted and the concern you have shown exemplify the standards of honour and decency which characterise BladeForums members.

I could not get over how the story just got worse with each sentence. Someone once mentioned that when a deal goes south, it really goes south all the way. This is what's happened. One thing doubling up on another.

Certain things can occur in life that go way out of control. You meant well and now, you have a right to get ticked about one person, while another person feels the right to get ticked about you. And it's a delivery gone bad that set this whole thing in motion.

All it takes is one mistake - one digit or one assumption on someone's part. I once bought a fancy tool kit and instead of it going to Long Beach, NY - it travelled to Long Beach, California. I had to sit around while it made it's way around the country wondering what condition this thing would be in once it made it's way to my door!

I do not have an answer except to feel at one with the pain of this situation. Time does heal all wounds and perhaps this will never happen again.

Hi TheBadGuy,

First of all I wish you and your loved ones a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year.
I can feel the anger and pain, I feel that UPS is to blame and subsequently they caused your customers to become ticked off.

Well I would also get ticked off when a postal service screws up but what if one of the Forum members receives 10 Firesteels by Registered Priority Airmail on December 10 (confirmed by himself) and then just doesn't pay you or reacts to the emails you send him.
Finally after you found his Blade Forums name and after you know that he's writing emails to other members, just minutes after you send him an email, answers your email with a "sad storry" for not having paid yet, Then it's silence again and so I'm (we're) still waiting to hear from him that he send us the money that he owes us after 20 days :(.

This I can tell you, caused a major dent in what maximus otter so nicely wrote.

TheBadGuy, your living in the same country and can call/email much easier and cheaper then I (we) can, also how can I pressure the guy I'm in Holland so he knows I won't be dropping by easilly.

Hopefully you'll find another buyer for the swords and we will get our money.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Hi BadGuy

I feel your pain.

I think UPS should be reprimanded for that mess they've created. Sometimes though, you should also consider that things don't always go as you've planned... and just let it go as a business loss. I'm not saying you should instantly give up as soon as you've hit a wall. But at least refuse to let the bad situation get the best of you.

P.S. If I were in your position... I'd go to the UPS manager, rip his head off, and send it to California (via UPS ofcourse) demaning my sword back or else! ;) But that's just me...

Pretty well said Maximus. Keywords being honour and decency. Some people have totally lost the concept of those words.

About a week later my wife went into labor and things seemed like they couldn't get any better.

Don't forget about the things that do go right :)

Hope everything works out with your package.

If the package wasn't delivered to the person in question, it's UPS's sole fault - and they have to pay. Did you insure it for the amount it was worth? If so, start a trace, and wait for your check. If they won't pay, take them to court. UPS makes a ton off their shipping, so don't be afraid to get your money back.

Heck, you should get a shipping refund as well, and the replacement should be shipped for free.

Fight back.

Oh - and congrats to the family addition(s)!
