USPO MO Means USPO MO

It's simple.

If one doesn't like the terms of sale posted, ask about other terms. If turned down, move on.

I had one buyer recently send me a Money Gram. I'd never had one sent before, so I said yes.

Never again. Paperwork, fingerprints, blood work, CAT Scan, hair samples. Too much hassle.

USPS MO or too bad.

Reduces risk to the seller also, as the new MO's are harder to forge...

Exactly. Moneygram for me means giving a check cashing place my social security number and other info and having them take 10% just to cash it. My one and only paypal experience left me SOL while I had to wait for my money to clear and find time to meet up with the person whos account I used, making me have to wait up to two weeks to get some of the funds. Never again. Still wondering what to do about this random MO someone recently sent me....

Vivi, have you considered making your own paypal account? It's not really a bad experience in general, just say that you will not accept echecks or paypal credit card payments. There is a small fee and you get the payment instantly.

And if it's a personal account (<$500 a month incoming) it's totally free. E-checks take 3-5 days to clear, but credit/debit is instant.

Personal account cant accept credit or debit.

Ah. I forgot. Actually, I think you can accept one per month or a total of five per year or something like that with a personal account... but if you try to accept more it charges you something like double the fees if would normally charge a premier account.

I currently have some sale threads up and have listed, Paypal or USPS MO only.
Someone wanted to pay by Cashier's check.
I immediately accepted and received it today. Thank you Bank of America. :D
You could accept those if necessary. Your bank treats them just like USPS MO's.

I will sway a little bit on what someone wants to send.
(Doesn't sound like I'll be accepting any Money Grams though)

Don't do personal accounts. You can't get seller protection. With the upgraded account, if you show that you have tracking and signature verification the buyer can't just screw you over by complaining nothing came. This has happened to me before so I only deal with people who have paypal verified accounts.

USPS money orders are the easiest to cash, if not at your bank(if you have one) the post office can cash them.

It's a little hard for some of us to get US postal service money orders... but we can get Canada Post money orders.

Within Canada, Interac transfers work really well.

When I have accepted USPS money orders, depending on the amount, I've had a hard time getting them cashed. Several times when the amount was $300+ I had to go to three different PO's before I found one that had enough on hand to cash it. I now go the Paypal route. Saves time and gas....and frustration.

If you use Paypal then you have a bank account.
Just go to your local branch and it's good as gold.

I just made a mistake in a transaction that cost me getting a knife I have wanted for a long time:o. I had a deal in Canada for a knife, and was sending payment by USPS Money Order. Little did I know there is something called an 'INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDER' vs the regular old USPS Money Order:foot: Even the DAss clerk did not avail me of that information as I was buying the MO at the PO. I filled out the regular one, stuck it in an envelope, and asked said D'ass clerk "what is the postage on this letter to Canada?". Her reply was the postage price, never questioning whether I had just stuck that 'regular MO' in the same envelope:confused: It would've been more my fault, but I was the only customer at the time and she watched me do the whole transaction:grumpy: I happily sent it off, only to get home later that day and find a PM from the seller telling me he hoped I got an INTERNATIONAL Money Order:eek: I actually drove, raced, back to the PO but the D'ass clerk told me they could not retrieve my letter:mad: Another PO employee heard the commotion and as I was leaving mentioned that the person getting the 'regular one' up in Canada might be able to get it cashed at their bank. Alas, I was extremely disappointed that I made the mistake and contacted the seller and told him to relist the knife and just return my MO when he gets it.

Lesson learned....Ask for anyone else to help you in the PO if the only clerk helping you is a D'ass chinese woman who's first language isn't engwish:grumpy:

My terms are USPS money order, or Paypal.

You can cash a USPS M.O. at the P.O., or your bank, with no fee, ect.

Very hard to forge, and a federal offense if you do, not including mail fraud.

paypal, while I may not like some of their policies or fees, I make sure I charge enough for the item, and fees in the original price, and follow their rules. By doing so, your butt is covered in case of fraud.

I have never had an issue with A USPS Money order, but I have had issues both paying and receiving money with paypal. In all cases, I have recovered 100% of my funds.

All you have to do is follow the procedures.

This is all a moot point because it sounds like Vivi can't get a bank account (or doesn't want), which means no paypal account.

I agree Mike G with what you posted, and do. I noticed the new USPS MO's are made with a new process and have an embedded strip now too.
