Hello

usually when I place orders with USPS I got the product within 12-15 days from the US to Europe

4 weeks ago, I placed orders in the US and I still have nothing in the mail box
The tracking information says the parcels are in Chicago... since more than 10 days

i would like to get some information from US resident about their experience with USPS during the last month.

have you seen some delays in deliveries, etc.?

Yep.

For domestic mail, sometimes it's early/on-time just like usual, and sometimes it takes an extra day or two. Overall it's on time more often than not -- but tracking seems to be less reliable. I've gotten tracking issues much more often, even though the affected packages are fine and arrive on schedule.

I recently got an airmail envelope from the UK that took a month to arrive. Pre-COVID, that would usually have been about 14 days, although once in a while it would take 4-6 weeks.

Yes, lots of delays and the USPS tracking system isn't working correctly. I recently received a knife, sent with USPS tracking, before it was shipped according to USPS Tracking :)

Things are slower, and they are inconsistently delayed. I have had a few small items glide through like normal, then others are delayed. Larger items took correspondingly longer. This is all anecdotal and a small sample size, so I don't know how relevant it's going to be to you. But 10 days in Chicago sounds like overkill, especially without the deep dish pizza joints in operation. It sounds like you are in for a wait, but I wouldn't count it out as lost quite yet.

I have 2 packages that were shipped from the US internationally 5 and 6 weeks ago and both still show the same as yours. Last scan update was Chicago. And my local Post Master has not been able to get more information on either package yet.

I know several inbound packages had been delayed before and it seems many outbound are being delayed severely also.

Yep. My cousin sent me a package from Portland, OR to Detroit, MI. Shipping estimate was 7-9 days. It actually took 21 days. This was 2 weeks ago.

I had a knife from Canada sit in the Chicago depot for 8 days myself...seems like maybe that particular one is having issues.

Thanks for the feedbacks

my issue seems to be “standard” then... I was kinda expecting that
I hope I will got the items at some point. mad long as they are not lost I am fine with the delay, just more excited to get the knives ;);)

Yeah a sheath made for me has been pending acceptance in NC since May 1. Relieved to see others are seeing delays.

No changes noticed in time of delivery & tracking for USPS domestic mail (as the the recipient or sender) for me in the past 2-3 months and I've received and sent a lot of "stuff" during this time period.

Received one item from Canada w/o any notable problems/delays during that time period as well.

No problems here. Had 2 packages shipped from FL. to PA. np. On Monday I ordered from DLT went to the post office Monday night in WI. now its in the Philadelphia distribution center. I live outside the city. it will arrive early.

Things are very goofy at the post office. I have a package that is supposedly sitting in Connecticut since 3-15-20 that was supposed to be delivered on 3-16. Still haven't gotten it.

I was expecting a package from Russia that was supposed to take 3-4 weeks. Its tracking status never changed. Upon the two month mark, I filed a claim with the Bay and was reimbursed my money. Two days later it showed up at my door. I was shocked! I did the right thing and recompensated the seller through PayPal.

It's in the metro hub. That place is a shitshow and sometimes things get stuck there for a bit.. even before this covid mess. You'll get your item though, brother.

The infrastructure is fine, all my stuff moves from hub to hub just like any other time. But my carriers are absolute garbage. I never have the same one twice. Had a knife coming today and had my tracking marked something like "Residence inaccessible". My carrier comes by foot, weather is sunny and I don't have a dog...

Regularly have packages "Out for Delivery", doesn't show up with the mail (noon time, usually) and around 5-6PM that night I get the email telling me it's "Delivered in Mailbox" (it's not). Usually shows up a couple days after.

They really need to look at the hiring practices there. You guys should see the mix they send... Tis not the Post Office of the 20th century, that's for sure.

Great. I have some nice stuff from David Mary here on the forums that, according to CA post, has just arrived at the customs sorting facility in Chicago. Here's hoping. Shall update.

The USPS is short staffed. Some of our carriers are delivering their routes during the day and then they go downtown to sort packages for OT. Another problem is the planes aren’t flying regular schedules. And certain countries aren’t letting anything out or in!

Yep. I have a parcel from the UK that was mailed on 4/14. I'm in the US and still patiently waiting.
