USPS and COVID

I sent a package to Chicago on April 7, it clears customs on the 9th and last known scan was the 13th - "In Transit".At the moment I have lost all hope that it will get to its destination and is most likely lost.

My other experience was an order from St. Nicks of Alabama.Knife ships April 11 and only arrives in Canada on May 1 about 3 weeks later which is not normal.

I sent 2 separate knives from Singapore to the US in mid March that arrived in late April. I was a little anxious after a month had gone by since they were pretty rare and expensive. I'm more confident in the various postal services now that they're delivered though. It seems things are ending up where they're meant to eventually, so I wouldn't be too concerned about the long wait times for international shipping.

Bought a knife from Sausilito, CA on 5-1 shipping east to me in TN...

USPS dashboard shows it arrived at the post office today!

in Sausilito, CA  ...

apparently the parcel has been taking a tour of the wine country in Northern California for the past week.

Every one of my USPS deliveries in the states have all been running a day or two early.
Also the day of the delivery It’s in my box early morning instead of early to mid afternoon.
No complaints here :D

Just for reference, the package from Canada mentioned earlier showed up yesterday:)

Hello

usually when I place orders with USPS I got the product within 12-15 days from the US to Europe

4 weeks ago, I placed orders in the US and I still have nothing in the mail box
The tracking information says the parcels are in Chicago... since more than 10 days

i would like to get some information from US resident about their experience with USPS during the last month.

have you seen some delays in deliveries, etc.?
USPS issues in the beginning weren't bad, average 1-3 day delay. As time went on I noticed more issues. Longer delays, poor tracking or no tracking beyond a shipping label created, getting stuck at a hub or being at a hub at the other end of the country no where near where it was shipped or to be delivered. Had one disappear and take over two weeks to travel two hundred miles. FedEx has been flawless and UPS has been decent

I shipped a guy a knife to Montreal over 3 weeks ago it has not moved per the tracking since April 26th. I have given him the tracking no. and he said no problem Canada Post is even slower....

Also ordered belts on April 9 got them May 1 and they shipped from 2 states away.... WOW USPS...great job....

Deliveries via USPS have consistently been 1-2 days late for me. In fact, the lady at my Post Office told me it is almost pointless to use Priority right now - First Class is getting to recipients in about the same amount of time.

Other carriers have not seemed to be as impacted. Although Prime 2-day shipping from Amazon is nowhere even close. But they inform you that your purchase will likely not be prioritized - who would have thought that bird feeders don't rank higher than medical supplies? Tongue-in-cheek, of course.

I show up for work everyday to deliver mail and packages to my customers. Most of them appreciate the effort. They are ordered to “stay at home”....but I’m at work. I walk up with their Amazon, eBay, and Blade HQ orders every day in the rain, snow, heat or pandemic!!
Show your mailman a some love! Especially in this terrible time.

I bought a knife from someone on the knife exchange from the UK and he sent it out on April 8th. The package arrived in the USA and was processed thru Chicago on April 13th. Almost a month later and no updates on the USPS website. It is still sitting in Chicago? I'm not sure. Im just hoping it eventually gets here at this point.

bigsurbob bigsurbob Was your sheath made by Azula? I’ve had a sheath an order that’s in Indian Trail, NC that has been showing “Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending” for like a week now. Just wondering if you were in a similar boat

cashville cashville exactly that, yes. I was shocked that the morning after I ordered it, it mailed out... May 1. However, it remained as Pending Acceptance in NC for this whole week. I just checked the status and it now says delivered. Our mailbox is over a mile away, and, get this... our landlord (lemon farmer/beekeeper) got ahold of a hive of mean bees right by our house. I guess the worker bees start laying drone eggs. The disproportionate drones apparently tend to be aggresive and we've been trapped inside for 3 days! My whole family, dog included, have all been stung! So... looks like I'll be braving the out-of-doors today to go retrieve my new Busse SOB sheath!! What we'll do for this hobby!

Betchya didn't see that tangent coming!

I just got stung again getting this pic... true story! You better enjoy it BF!

bigsurbob bigsurbob your dedication and hard work for the forum is greatly appreciated.
Haha I’m sorry to hear about the bee situation. I’m glad to hear your package has arrived. Let me know what you think of the sheath. This is my first one I’ve ordered from Azula, but I have one of their belts, which I’m quite happy with.
From the look of pictures, I like his simple designs and it looks like most knives would ride really comfortable on a belt in one of his sheaths.
Thanks for getting back to me, and best of luck with the bees!

That’s a bummer I’d reach out and open a claim. I’ve had several hung up there but they eventually go. I had one at a LA facility for like 10 days,

Incoming package shipments from USPS seem to be delayed more and morw each day. Tracking merely indicates moving to next facility. I bought a knife from an online dealer based in my home state yet and still haven’t received it after ten days. Frustrating.

Priority seemed to make a big difference for me, I had two separate purchases shipped from the same entity in CA to TX with the first shipped 1st Class May 1 and the second sent Priority May 5th. The 1st Class went from CA to Chicago and has been sitting there??? while the Priority was delivered to me yesterday. The 1st Class package was received in Chicago May 3rd and tracking says if also left May 3rd but the next/last update was May 7th which just says "in transit to next facility" so I have no idea where it is or when it will be here. Also had one ship 1st Class from Dallas May 3rd (I live by DFW Airport, i.e. about 15 miles from downtown) and it has been hung up in the system with that same message.

Nothing too valuable or anything...just aggravating but certainly not my postman's fault (he is one of the good ones).

UPDATE on my knife delivery to Canada, the guy received it Thursday.... the USPS tracking says still in transit to Canada. USPS needs to go...Or get bought by FED EX or something...

I'm only 5-6 hours drive from OK city... No departure scan. Nothing at all really. Just shows that they received the item. Meanwhile my half of the trade, which wasn't shipped until 5/11 is due for delivery tomorrow.
