As of January 2 2011 the prices on USPS priority mail and flat rate boxes has went up. :( Check it out.

Bottom of the page. www.usps.com

If this has already been mentioned I'm sorry for bringing it back up. Ash

I'm pretty sure all of there prices have gone up.

Just Priority Mail and Express Mail prices are being increased.
Not only the Flat Rate boxes but the "by weight boxes" as well.
First Class Mail isn't going to have it's prices increased.

I prefer USPS over UPS and FedEx and don't really think a $0.25 increase is that big a deal.

Just sayin'...

I believe FedEx and UPS are scheduling rate increases also.

It's just starting but everything is going up in price.

I agree. Priority mail is hard to beat.
It's as safe from lost/damage/theft as any multi-day shipping out there and they most always deliver door-door on the second day after it's in their hands.

Well, the Post Office isn't raising everything this time around. I just got my annual cost of living notice. For the first time, -- no increase. Thanx

go figure. so the government keeps the dollar weak on purpose and then prices go up. go figure. but hey things are looking up for 2011

its still some of the cheapest postage i've encountered! for a small package from Australia to the US via Auspost its over $50 and I have to pay a TSA fee of $9 because of terrorist SOB's loading up printer parts with explosives in Yemen not long ago.

Big deal. Try shipping 50 pounds of lead by UPS or FedEx. I can do is by priority mail for under $11. As they say, "If it fits, it ships"

Last year, I mailed a handgun* to a dealer in Alaska. It cost me $15. If I shipped it by UPS it would have cost close to $100.

I've used all of the shippers at one time or another, but I use USPS Priority exclusively these days. They get it done quick, have excellent tracking, and take care of complaints/losses in a timely manner. This is just my own experience of course, but it's given me a great deal of confidence in them. One thing to mention, even if it's just a little bit....if you create an account with USPS and order/print your shipping labels online, you get a slight discount. For instance, a small flat rate box is $5.20 at the PO, but if you do it online it's only $5.00. For somebody like me who ships a lot, the savings eventually add up.

I just sent (3) knives to Hawaii, USPS Express mail for less than $20. My outside insurance will even cover them to $15,000, they are that confident.

Still a great deal. BTW, they lost a boatload of money last year. I can see why. They aren't charging enough.

(SHHHHHHHHH!!!!)
