Utilitac II = AWESOME.

Waving a perfectly good knife is the 8th deadly sin.

Well, actually, because the thumbstuds on the Utilitac II stand slightly proud of the scales they would sometimes catch on the seam of my pocket and would unpredictably, partially deploy the blade as the knife was withdrawn from my pocket.
Waving it was a way to make the knife safe enough to carry and had the benefit of making it more glove-friendly.
Win-Win.

Hm it was always glove friendly for me, even with big thick utility gloves, and I don't have small hands by any means. I also haven't had pocket deployment issues. I'm sorry you did :/

I bought a tanto version off the river site yesterday, got it local delivery today...not impressed. There's nothing really wrong with it, I'm just not impressed. I'm not really a tanto fan in general, but I wanted to give it a try...not for me. It's going back in the mail tomorrow.

On the flip side, I ordered a Rat 1 with coyote brown scales and a sating plain edge blade from same said river site, that's coming tomorrow (gotta love premium membership $3.99 overnight shipping).

Did you use it for anything?

picked one of these up on a whim after perusing this thread, all I can say is this is an incredible value folder that I'll be recommending to my non-knife friends looking to pick up a budget blade. So much quality for under thirty dollars. The smoothness and lock up are next to knives I own that cost 10x the price.
