Not sure what the previous owner did to these scales .... I carried the knife daily for a month earlier this year, to get the shine off, no luck ! Anyways, I love it how it is.

Did you know that delrin has some really good characteristics that would lend itself to knife handles?

It is dimensionally stable, chemically impervious, it machines beautifully, it is completely waterproof and it would make an outstanding attractive long-lasting handle scale.

Except it would feel like cheap plastic

If companies can successfully market "Ultem," which looks like piss-yellow 1970s plastic that was left out in the sun for too long, anything is possible.

I’d try delrin out if you’d offer it, hopefully it can be dyed or comes in different colors. But why not especially if it’s receptive to your production process.

Delrin certainly has its uses...(like fixed loops on a kydex holster as some makers have done)...and I imagine it could be jigged or machined to make it more "attractive".
