Utility Fighter Appreciation Thread

I wanted to ask you, Nathan: have you used / considered using Pau Ferro ? It's very common for gun grips and guitars, and a beautiful, "mellow" lighter color. Never seen it for knife scales though, don't know why.

I think it's kinda cheap. If I want something with that look I'm probably going to use good Cocobolo or Arizona desert ironwood.

That said, those do look like some pretty good examples of it.

I love this photo. It reminds me of great times with my old Labrador Jessie “J-Dog” (my avatar photo.) She got excited for adventure anytime she saw me come out with a knife on my belt. Nine years since her passing and I still think of those glory days often.

Cherish each day with your buddy. They go too quickly…

Common Name(s): Pau ferro, morado, Bolivian rosewood, santos rosewood, caviuna. I think that I had heard of all of the names, but pau ferro. I believe it was Matt Gregory that enlightened me😊. Those are some fine looking pieces - steel and wood. Mike
