Utility wharncliffe folder?

Once yoy mention it - I actually do have a small one, but these are precision tools, the fine edge is rather easy to chip.

Hmmm I wonder if an Emerson or Kershaw tanto Emerson could for the bill. Despite the design some ppl find the design really useful for edc and cutting cardboard.

The side that Emerson chooses to chisel grind their blades might not be ideal though.

Ericv also mentioned the razel.

Ironically we were taking my mother in law out for mothers day and she got me a gift to congratulate me on my new job.

The Kizer Rogue is nice. I haven't used mine all that much yet but it seems solid. It is thicker behind the edge with a more robust tip than many wharnies such as the Yojimbo 2. I actually prefer a more acute tip and thinner edge. The Rogue may be perfect for you.

Matus- i'm talking about the $33-52 models, made with white steel, not the higher end types. Surfergringo just had an interesting post where he ground down one of the folding sheepsfoot salt blades to a wharnie profile, and then filed some of the teeth off a full spdyedge. he just did the tip but no reason you couldn't do most of a blade, if you wanted.

p.s. IIRC, it was the pacific salt-black handle
