Good stuff, makes me want to use a waterjet guy. Agree if you use a layer of leather to strop on it will help but also will give a little of a convex edge on them.
This is a test knife. Got some things right and some things wrong. I lost the shape of the edge but i got a nice ricaso. I think the file water-stone combination could work with a set of files coarse to fine to reduce the the work load on the stones.
Looking good to me. Would be great for the detail work around the campsite and for bushcraft in general.
The handle in the diagram above seems smaller than what would fit on the shaft a couple of photos up. Not sure if I'd want to have one with a larger handle or something smaller that I could carry around more often. Both options would be good though.
Today I had planed to start fitting the handles but it did not feel right. It felt like I was pushing forward not being quit done sharpening. The smallest sheep foot had a flat spot in front of the ricaso and the two larger blades had a some what uneven finish.
Ink showing the hard to reach spot.
Finally got it.
I used 800 an 6000 grit water stones an autosol polish on a leather strop today.
Man this looks like a fun project! Wish I had known all you cool knife people when i was in Sweden years ago, would have made that trip even more awesome! Love these designs by the way and being the new owner of a Norwegian Tollekniv made by Brusletto I have major respect for these traditional Scandinavian utility blades. They just eat through wood and make all cutting tasks fun and easy without too much flash. Suits me just fine

For the bolster, I think 4 looks similar to the wooden handled Mora knives, though 3 seems a little better to me. Then again, 1 could be cool. Probably would just say "surprise me" if I got one, too many choices!
The pic right above is promising. Seems like a fun/useful knife for the detail work.
