Valor II wallet knife

beveled for me too please.Judging from the picture I'm guessing you haven't found a drill for you one inch diameter bit yet.

nope not yet, i dont want to get a cheep one. but Im very good with my hands and a file. you wont even be able tell that i didint use a drill.

ok i have gotten the edge bevels done and now it will go to heat treat tomarow. i hope you did not mind that i did a convex grind. this is my favort grind because its super easy to keep sharp. you will shure love this knife.

yes and one more thing, do you just want the blade edge hardened and leave the rest softer thenthe edge. this is how i did deaths head so that if it was droped the thiner cut outs would not break. but i can harden the complete thing if you want me to.

just wanted to add a picture befor i went to bed.

hope you like the file work

JT my bladesmithing knowledge leaves alot to be desired. You know way more about it than I do so I'll leave the particulars up to you.Just do what you think is best. All I can say is I love what you've done so far and I think the file work is awesome.Keep up the good work.

well the blade is tempering right now. i did a statin finish for you, i finished the blade to 120 grit after i hardened it so that the 120 grit scratches are not vers deap because if you uses a 120 grit of unhardened steel it can leave some searios gouges. but when its hardened its realy just 120 grit texture. i will then jump up to 2000 to put a polish over the 120 grit. deaths head im retempering your blade as well down to 60-61 so it will have less of a chance of chiping.

I get very round holes from a hole-saw. You might want to try it.
They are cheap for just one size.

hole-saw? could youe further explane this process on how i could cut a round hole through 1/8 O-1 steel

Wow, Jtknives, that is a great blade you made for Chief-yeah. I love the blade shape and file work. You mentioned you were putting convex grindes on these. Are you able to make them with 15 degee bevels, so its sharpmaker friendly? I am a horrible free hand sharpener.

A hole saw is what you use to install a door knob in a undrilled door.. It consists of a drill bit usually 1/8 in that acts as a pilot for a larger hollow bit.. Tha bi-metal ones from sears and home depot work pretty good on annealed steel..I will post a pic soon..

This is my wood set..They also make them in bi-metal for steel. They work well in a drill press..

man i love making these, i feal like a human mill. i consider these works of art and more usefull than a painting. there is onley one thing i ask from my buyers and that is when you get the knfe yo right up somthing that i can post on my site so others can read others comments on my work. also be free in spreding the word of where thay can get these knives when your frends want to steel yours.

ok CY your knife is just about done, i just have to do the final edge sharpning, it has to shave the hair off my arm befor i consided it sharp. but it hurned out very nice and very comfortable in the hand.

colog,
thats the nice thing about convex grinds its very simple to sharpin. i was never good using a stone but with this grind i can get a hair poping edge in a fue min. trust me you would love it, the other nice thing is that because you use 800-2000 grit sand paper to sharpin it you can allwase keep a chunk with you in your wallet so you can sharpin the blade on the road if you need to.

colog You must know that its your turn for your knife now.
what kind of style did you want. I think you have been falowing the other projects so you should be familuar with my work. If you like it I would love to start on your knife tomarow morning the 28th so if you do want one which I hope you do because I love making these and thay look very nice I would need to know what knid of style you would want. Thanks for your paticencs in waiting for your turn. Jarod Todd

Wow, guess you weren't kidding about being able to file ROUND holes :)

Hell yeah, ive been watching. I think i pretty much know what i want. Should be pretty easy. I love everything about Cheif-Yeahs knife. Execpt I like the finish you put on deathheads. As far as the blade goes, I like the angle on chief yeahs but without so much belly. Not to mean perfectly flat but just not so rounded. I hope you get what I mean. Blade hardened to around 58-60, don't have to do the whole handle. Anykind of filework you desire would be fine as well.
