Sweet Stuff, I was in Home Depot the other day and checked out the hole saws. Just under $10 for a 1" bimetal hole saw that you could mount on a drill or drill press - may save you a whole lot of time :)
 
do you know what size shank it had, because i have a 1" high speed tool steel bit but it has a 1/2" shank and needs a larger drill. but how good do these bimetal drills work. are thay just good for sheet metal.i will have to check them out and see how god thay work.
 
Well it definitely was smaller than a 1/2"

I don't know exactly how well it works however, sorry. Just based on my experience with bi-metal sawzall and jigsaw blades, I'd guess that you'd be (very) satisfied.
 
ya i think i can, good thing i onley hardened the edge. so this means i will be able to file down to where the hamon is. so i hope this is ok, to file past the hardened part i would have to aneal the blade and this would destroy the finish plus i would need to reharden and temper the blade. then put the finish back on. so it would be a long process. but i can go down as far as i could.
 
Thanks JTknives. I don't want you to aneal the metal. Try to go down far enough the spine for my thumb to lay on if you can. Thanks!

not a problem, but you will have to be carfull. DH might want to steel your sweet knife when he sees it.
 
colog you knife is allmost done, is in the quentch tank cooling down from the heat treat. ill post a pictures soon, you will love it.

ya it looks super. you just need to send 70 bucks to the address i posted on the last page. this blade shaves the hair off my arm. if you want a sheath i can send it to deaths head and he can make one for you.
 
No need for a sheath. I can work kydex fairly well. I'll just make a very small blade guard. I'll send a payment out tomorrow. Thanks for your hard work.
 
That one is really well done. I like the finish. Gives it a hand forged look. Kinda like Fred Perrin's work. By the way, JTKnives, you read my message right? Your payment is on the way.
