Dave is "feeling like a little kitten" now as he put it. He woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and fell. He forgot to take his cell phone to call his daughter. He's dependent on her right now. So, he pulled up a pair of sneakers for a pillow and slept till help arrived. He sounded well on the phone despite his new physical dilemma.

His brain is 100% and they say his body will eventually make a full recovery. He was real surprised and glad to get ALL THE SUPPORT FROM EVERYONE. THANK YOU.

He spoke of his bills he accrued though all this Bull **** he has been dealt.

Some have asked about donations in the past. I mentioned it to him and he could really use it. Seeing its the season for giving, any donations can be sent to his paypal account if you wish to help the Gittlemen house hold. I'm sure his daughters deserve a nice gift this year. Dave isn't working and any donation would really help him out financially and spiritually.

His account is Vampiregerbil@aol.com Thank you.

Incredible. He must have Militec in his veins and S30V in his bones.

I just added Dave to my Xmas list.

For those who don't do the paypal thing....

Thanks again Frank. I sent out yesterday.

I'm going to quote myself from another thread.
"Okay, now we have to take some of the weight off his shoulders . It's time to ante up. Please don't let him come all this way back to be crushed by the expenses. Prayers and all of the good wishes had to help, but now is time to kick in with cash."

This time last year my Dad was in hospital after a stroke. He's doing pretty good now and I know Dave will come through this too. Been following his progress here and I'll continue to do so. Small donation sent along with very best wishes.

I am new to the Blade Forums and I am Frank's wife -- the one who posted this original thread. Stacey (Dave's wife) was my Matron of Honor at my wedding in Vegas 2 summers ago -- she passed away suddenly in October 2004 from an automobile accident. Then, Dave had his stroke a week later. It's been a nightmare I'm sure for Dave and his daughters. My 15-year-old son's Dad died this past February 2004 from Hodgkin's Disease (cancer of the lymph nodes. He was 34.) I have been doing a fundraiser in his memory through a memorial scholarship fund, to go to three separate high schools in my area and also my old alma mater and his Dad's. I think this gave my husband an idea to get this started for Dave...even a few dollars can make a difference. I know -- I have been in a similar situation myself in my early twenties. Now I'm 35 with 4 kids! So, please...just give a little something. Dave is a wonderful man with a big heart. His looks are very deceiving....he is a sweetheart! Frank spoke to him just today and he didn't sound very well. It must be tough, going through a major brain aneurysm, having had your wife die a week before and having a teenage daughter do EVERYTHING for you....what about medical bills, food, etc. His community in Pahrump, NV should be reaching out and helping!! (But I don't know Dave well enough to go ahead and start contacting the newspapers, etc.) I know there are tons of people here on the Forum and on other forums as well. Even if you don't know him, just think about what he is going through. He may look as "tough as nails" but no one can handle something like this alone. Nobody.

I never give anything to anybody, well I do but only through my church. But this time I feel compeled to give a little something.

Get well man, keep moven.

Tonights overtime goes to Dave and his family. Get well and God Bless, my friend.

I'm in for some $. Every donation helps.

Done. I hope it's of some help for Dave and his family.

Yes, lets not forget the trooper who has been towing the line here at such a young age. I emphasized in my paypal to make sure she was taken care of on Christmas with a portion of it. Sent a good sum his way with left overs in mind for that.

I just got a phone call from Alisha & VG and they do appreciate what you folks are doing.

We all know that this is a tough time of the year, but it is the season for giving so send all you can.

Frank Castle, please email me, VG says you have something I need to see.... philip.labarbera@gmail.com
