Vampire Gerbil Donation information

Just got a check from a friend who "owed" me money(helped her out last year with a plane ticket when she needed to move out of her isutation). Kinda figure this is same as last yer, was given this money, which might be nice to have, but which I don't need, and have a friend here who could use it more than me. Someone upstairs always has great timing in these types of things for me.

SO paypal going out tonight for Dave and Alisha.
 
If someone has a phone number for the house could I have it? You can send it via private mail. I may have an idea for Alisha. Thank you,
 
Okay I've got some good news and some bad news.
The good news is that VG is feeling much better, good enough in fact to take a trip to visit some relatives. They should be back Monday or Tuesday.

The bad news is that they don't seem to have any Internet access, some problem with the Password to AOL I think. This means they have no access to any money that may be in their PayPal account. Alisha said she's going to try to figure it out when she gets back. If anyone that knows about PayPal has any suggestions wait until about Tues. and give them a call.

I knew there was a reason I didn't trust PayPal. :p
 
Phil,

You don't need access to the Internet to get the funds from PayPal, if it's set up with your checking account. You only need the Internet to check account transfers, and send money. So, they should be getting the money into the account they designated.

I'm sending my bit via snail mail. I just don't trust Paypal for an important transaction. All my best wishes.

PS. A couple weeks ago I had dinner with a friend that I hadn't seen in 30 years. He had a similar stroke in his early 30's. It didn't damage his critical faculties so he went back to school and got his masters degree so that he could change professions. He uses canes to help get around, but he is looking good and life is good for him. He has had a full life and has made a difference for people around him. I was telling another old friend that I bet his father was proud of the way he turned out.

Yeah, donations will be safe and sound until VG or his daughter gets net access.

PayPal sent! I strongly urge everyone to drop a few bucks his way. If you don't, when he gets back to the forums he's going to see what a cheap bastard you are (and possibly kick your ass). ;)
 
Frank, I spoke to VG today and gave him that #.

He sounded much better today, much more alert. He's in a lot of pain due to a disslocated shoulder. There's some one that comes to the house to give him PT.

VG can't post, computer problems and he can't type, but he is reading what's posted here. So please let him know you're still pulling for him.
He appreciates the money that's been sent more than you could ever know. I don't have the nerve to ask him what kinds of bills he's looking at, but they must be overwhelming.

If you can, send whatever you can whenever you can.

I hope to ride up and see you again when I'm in Nevada next month for the vegas knife show.

I'm off work myself, killed my wrist at work and been off for 2 months so far...
At least I'm getting paid for it though.
Just got my 2nd check from workers comp on friday... I'm sending a little out Dave's way on tuesday when the PO is open again.
 
My prayers are with dave,and i know what its like. I suffered a stroke in january and my wife has been working a lot more hours to make ends meet, i just stasrted recieving checks from social security, so that helps a lot.Does he have any family that could pitch in and help his daughter,contacting the local news papers could help.?
 
I know when I get a PayPal payment sent to me, it doesn't automatically get deposited into my bank account. I have to go online to transfer it. That's where they make out--like a savings institution, they have access to LOTS of cash awaiting redirection. That's simply business.

Coop, now you have me nervous again.
I wish someone that is familiar with PayPal and how it works would call VG and let him know what he has to do to get at his money. I know Alisha said she would try to figure it out, but I'm sure she would appreciate some help.
