I don't know yet, Phil. I made a deposit tonight of all the checks I have received as of today, and I previously withdrew the Paypal payments to the account as soon as I opened it up. Oh, and the account is now a confirmed Paypal account in case anyone else wants to contribute money down the road.

The rest of the Paypal payments were sent to Ren, and he is going to withdraw the funds tomorrow and send me a check, along with the names of who those contributions were from.

So after I get the check from Ren, I will know where we stand. I am going by the names of those who pledged, but I know at least one person sent a check who had not previously pledged. Or maybe I missed his pledge.

I am very thrilled by the number of pledges and the fast follow-up by the guys.

We will have money for the first year, and a cushion to fall back on if extra hours are needed for cleaning or extra errands.

I was glad that I received the ATM/Debit card in the mail today so that I could make the deposit.

It hasn't even been 2 weeks since I broached this subject, and we are already cookin' with gas!

So what is this money for? Hopefully not for a new computer because we did this just a year and a couple months ago. I know because I gave $50 to the cause. We raised over $500 and got him a Mac. What happened to it? I can't believe that it's junk in a little over a year.

DUDE!

This money is for a major shopping trip for me. I only was using VG as part of my scam. I could care less whether or not VG gets his computer hooked up and gets back online. That's his sorry gerbil problem.

I believe VG hocked the Mini Mac for cigarettes.

Otherwise, just get Spegettios or Mac and Cheese or maybe a couple of movies for the Gerb'. I'm sure he could use a little cheering up, and movies usually do it for me. (check the wal-mart discount bin first ;) )

Yes!!!!! Send me $100. I will see that it gets put to good use. :D I'll try to track down some Cherry Pop Tarts - Wal-Mart probably has them. Your donation will be taken to Pahrump in cold, hard cash and will be spent on the Gerbil. (as opposed to the other funds that have been sent - which will be spent on ME!).

I just withdrew the $$$ from Paypal. I'll go to the ATM and get the $100 before leaving for Pahrump.

Yeah, I'm sure Dave would appreciate it! I will make sure to get a nice pedicure as the Gerbil has a foot fetish - because that's about as far up as he can get on a woman's body. It must be tough being a gerbil.
 
Okay, I admit I'm blind and dense, but I didn't see a PayPal address for the new account. Where do I send more money? I used Ren's PayPal the first time. :confused:

You can use my Paypal account, and I have the VG Fund bank account linked to it as of last Friday so that I can withdraw the money straight to the VG account.

Captain, I'm sure the computer you contributed to is fine, It's the Gerbil that's damaged. This years collection is to help VG with his regular needs. His daughters are gone, he can't walk or drive. It costs him $40 in cab fare just to get groceries. Judy, found a service that will help with the shopping and cleaning, so we took up a collection to make sure that he's covered for a year of that service.

Judy, is on her way to VG's to see what she can get done in person. She has been the driving force to help VG. I personally can't thank her enough.

Captain when you kicked in for the Mini Mac, I was flat broke and couldn't help. Thank you for helping. I'm able to help now, but you never can tell what the future will bring.

For the record, Dave didn't ask for any of this. He needs our help, but didn't ask for anything. Some of us feel that getting him back online and posting here will be the best medicine he can get.
