Vantage "Pro" s30v!

I gave in... $56 with s/h. High, I know, but I don't have enough for anything else, anyway! We'll see how long it takes to ship from their 'six' available.

Which model did you get at that price - Avid or Pro (wood or G-10)?

I'm waiting for a 347 - the 'Pro' model with G10/S30V. The blade appears to be the same as the 172 TNT uses. Worried about their really having it, as they seem scarce, I wrote them re their shipping expectations. The quick reply yesterday stated they usually ship 'quickly' - and I would be e-mailed when they did so. I checked this AM - they still haven't acknowledged, via 'feedback', my buy. I worry when trying someone new... should have gone to a regular vendor. Of course, they didn't have one!

Has the Vantage Pro been released yet? I think I saw one on ebay, they are a very smart knife.

Tim,

The first ones delivered to retailers seem to be sold out already. I put my pre-order in back in January so I was one of the ones that got my Vantage Pro.

I've already declared that I like the Pro better than my new TNT. The Vantage Pro is that good. Its been in my pocket everyday since it got here. Home Run all The Way (do you Aussies appreciate baseball analogies??).:D

Just notified my 347 Pro is 'in the mail' (USPS Priority Mail from CA). I should get it by Saturday.

I heard a rumor that a certain Mr. Buck in ID also likes his 347 Pro better than the TNT. It looks like the same blade - how about a comparison, Flatlander, on the 172 TNT vs the 347 Pro S30V blades? Are they the same spine thickness and cutting length? Thanks!

Interesting!!

Sure Stainz, I'll be happy to do a comparison of the two. I'll do it in the morning after I drink my coffee and I've perked up. I'll also do some close up shots too. g

I dont usually like newer high tech knives, I prefer the old type with a nice solid chunky feel to them, although that Vantage pro is an exception it is a really beautiful knife. I would like to own one.

Hi, new guy here. Had a problem with mine and returned it to Buck. The liner lock was all the way to the right edge and there was blade wobble. Hope it comes back OK.

Finally got my Vantage Pro and I must say I am impressed. Very nice G10 and a super nice blade that flicks open real easy. Blade is nice and tight, no play with a slight lean to one side when closed. Buck really hit this one out of the park and is really better of a deal that my Native ever thought of being. Have not had a chance to use it yet but sure is slick.

There are several on FleaBay but two sellers are saying Pro and showing either the Avid or Select models. So, be sure you talk to them. I'm not sure all understand the difference yet. I'd ask you a picture of the box with the model info.

Expect to pay a slight premium with those guys...say around $7 more than Knifecenter.

I've got an insider in post falls who helped me out, all I need to do now is test this puppy out and write a review of it. I am really impressed by the quality of this knife, it just oozes quality out of every detail. The G10 is smooth and contoured nice and it flicks open at the flick of a wrist

I ordered a Vantage Select in 420HC, can't seem to find the s30v Pro in stock anywhere!

I figure if I like the design and don't have any southpaw issues, I can give it to one of my Nephews and get the Pro later! :D

I got mine from the first place that came up when I searched the evil-bay for 'buck vantage pro'... BIN $50 + s/h - and they are in L.A., too. It said they have 3.

Oregon,

Nice layout on your Pro and TNT.

I've been playing with my Avid...just opening closing. I still haven't gone to get a wrench to tighten the pivot bushing.

Dang thing has straightend up and the liner pretty much is hitting the first 3rd on the back blade. Who'd have thunk it. I'm starting to get attached to the thing too. That charcoal dymondwood is really nice and the extreme sharp edge on the Sandvik is super.
