Vantage "Pro" s30v!

I had thought that removing the knife from the pocket would be problematic due to the smooth surface of the knife. However, even when clipped into the thick levi pocket material I find pulling the knife free of anxiety and doable. You grab the top of the knife with the thumb inside the pocket on the scale and the first finger on the clip (good that the clip has the long cone-shaped opening as you get some purchase with your index finger at the top of this hole which helps pull the knife free of your pocket rim). No sweat.

I can't tell about any possible washers in the pivot end. I don't see the golden color of PBs. I don't want to be the first to take one apart since it flips real nice at the moment.

I made a number of calls Friday - thus far, none of the 'normal' channels have any stock. Knifecenter was out, too. Anyone know of a source with some stock (#347 Pro)??

It looks like a Buck that will displace my Spydie S30V Native as an EDC, and that's no mean feat!

Thanks!

I'm a little embarassed to say this after all the blubbering about the TNT, but I like the Vantage Pro better and the TNT has lost it's job as most favored EDC.

Nylon....I just took mine apart to see:D
They are small diameter and durable.
Good thing if something goes wrong Buck will stand behind them.
I received 2 of the 346's also (13C26 Sandvik scary sharp).... I'm all thumbs and I still flip all 3 like a pro:.....photos later.
I do like how they ride deeper in the pocket.
Great knife BUCK !!!

EEE,

Since you got three Vantage knives, how was the lock up position of the linerlock?
My Pro is on the first third and the Avid is in the middle.
Also, are the blades perfectly straight/aligned with the frame when open?

I'm really impressed with the Avid's sharpness (noted it in another thread).
These knives are one heck of a value. g

Carring the Vantage Avid today to see how the new steel (13C26)holds up.
Blade lock is dead center.
Closed blade point lays to the right, lock up.
Blade points to the left when open w/lock facing up.
It has not affected my cutting:D pics later

Looks like we are exactly the same of the Avid.
Well, maybe that's the way its supposed to be. Hummh.

I saw two Avids and a Pro with a BITNow on you know where yesterday. Pricing same as Knifecenter.

Howdy folks-

Somebody just posted a pic of these at WSS (previously unaware). I like the look of the pro and avid quite a lot! Is there any word as to when retailers will get them back in stock?

I think I should be getting mine this week from Buck, will let you guys know what I think and take some photos too while I am at it.

Could somebody post a close up picture of the non-shield side of the Vantage Pro with the blade closed?

I'm curious how much if any the liner lock covers the thumbhole when the blade is closed, because sometimes that makes it difficult to open for a southpaw.

EDIT:Never mind, I see hang em already did.

Hmmm....may have to hold off ordering one until I actually can handle it.

Bear Claw, I don't have any issues opening mine with my left hand using only opening hole. I have smaller hands though, about a medium glove if that helps.

It looks like most of the typical vendors are still out of stock for the Pro, or are selling their stock as quickly as it comes in.

I hate to buy stuff that is on backorder but I may have to....
