someone traded you with that, its like a $9 knife. you should def get some money back and revert the charges on paypal. i assume you used goods and services? else you are probably out of luck.
 
It was a multi knife trade on both ends. No money or PayPal funds were sent in either direction..no safety net

A mod's opinion was requested as to the propriety of this thread.
I have read the thread and see no problem on the part of the OP. He has a knife and asked for opinions. He has received them in the thread. He posted no links, nor did he praise the clone.

There are a few of these on eBay, wish these seller accounts would get shut down.
 
These Sales, @ least on the Bay, can be reported whenever seen & post a question to the seller "visible to all" saying "Fake product, Not Authentic Spyderco"

Maybe some heartache can be saved for those not intentionally seeking out a fake Spyderco.

The pocket clip is a deep carry clip made by STR. I put that clip on myself. Let's be honest, the pocket clip probably cost more than the knife lol.

As for the trade, I'm SOL. I haven't received a response from the trader, probably because I included a link to this thread. I was wanting a Blurple PM2 but instead decided to try to trade up to a more rare Exclusive PM2 M4. Now I have a really nice pocket clip attached to a wannabe knife :thumbdn:.

true on the clip.

that's a real crappy move, on who traded with you. while he/she may have gotten burnt themselves, that isn't your fault. they should at least funnel the value or a large percentage of a real m4 back to you. something to even you out. surprising how often folks will let selfishness decide for them rather than eat the loss, do the right thing and be able to hold their head high and proud. is what it is......
 
Where did you meet the person to make the trade? Most forums have an area to report when a transaction goes bad so others can steer clear of a similar situation. On BF it's The Good, Bad, and the Ugly. Even if you don't know if they are a member here, it would be worth posting their email and name in case someone runs across them? Since they are ignoring you and not trying to make things right. You shouldn't suffer just because you didn't know a fake existed.

Just a thought.
 
The trade was arranged outside of this forum, so I'll handle that situation outside of the forum as well. I didn't start this thread as a means to call out this guy, I genuinely thought the knife was real and was hoping to tap into this forum's expertise. If anything can be learned from my experience..Do Your Homework
 
I'm holding a real pm2 in my hand right now. The only differences I can see are the notch at the base of the blade (but that could have been a modification), and the edges/corners around the lock cutout (mine's completes smooth). If that's a fake, it's crazy close to the real thing.
