Vermont Trip (Photo Heavy)

Seymour and Echo are such beautiful lakes nestled in among the hills as they are.

When I would go over to Island Pond, I would go from Derby Line to Holland, then down to Seymour, take a left and on to IP.

I'm trying to think of the cop in IP, now retired, who ran speed traps. I got one from him but ended up with the charges dropped.

Echo is also beautiful. That's where Ian Flemming had a cabin, and wrote the James Bond series at.

It's so funny you're talking about that cop in IP. My father in law was just telling me the story when we were driving through there. Said he was an ass, and would pull you over for driving 1 mph over the speed limit, etc. He also got a ticket from him. He said it was the big talk back then, how everyone hated the guy, etc.

What a great trip and amazing photos. Sounds like it started out kinda rough but things worked out in the end.

Thanks man, appreciate it. Definitely had fun. Pop was talking about going back in Sept, but I'm not sure if we'll be able to go or not.

Thanks guys, appreciated. Hope to get to return one day.

Very cool photos. I was just in CT over the weekend, southern end. I remember hiking around smugglers notch years and years ago, I think I was like 14 or so then. If my memory serves me, we did about 25 miles at the time.

Thanks. I've been through CT a few times. We stopped near Watertown at Black Rock State Park and spent the night in the tent.

Ah, I know black rock. I've never had the opportunity to stay there (or even go walk around for that matter) but I have passed it on quite a few occasions. Where I was this weekend, I was maybe a 20-30 mins away.

That's a shame that you spent the whole visit making repairs but I'm sure it was all worth it to just soak up the serenity and take in the local culture. Vermont is very high on my list of "places to be", that said, I'm about due for another white water trip from the Jamacia dam during release.

We stopped at Black Rock coming back from VT one year, the wife and I. A few times we left there, and took the long way home. The wife and I are trying to figure out how we can move to VT. I would love to live there. Damn.

Thank you for sharing, great photography and enjoyed seeing another place across the pond.
