Very odd Buck knife if it’s real

Two guys who hadn't bid before jumped in at (literally) the last minute and took it from $325 to $807.

I bet the (winner?) is cussing out the guy who came in second and drove it up so high for him.

The "Dueling Snipers" who shot it up with snipe bids in the last seconds were taking a big chance.......and one of them lost.

Will we ever learn which "lost"? By which I intend, is the knife really a Buck, and if so, what its history is?

Depends on who bought it. If it was somebody from here we'll hear more. If it was a reclusive Buck collector......the knife will vanish into a safe and be heard from only when that collector dies........unless there's another reclusive Buck collector in the family.

The seller was a pawn shop and if they had any history they would have posted it on the auction.

I'm surprised that they didn't invent a little history. A good story always ups the price. (Which is why the experts always say, "Buy the knife, NOT the story.")

As to the authenticity of the knife......we'll get opinions. There's not a lot of real evidence, so some may remain unconvinced on both sides.

An opinion from Buck would be the most convincing, but under the circumstances of evidence, it's still probably going to be an educated guess.

Joe is really good at this type of stuff. If he can't tell by good photos, he might have you send it in, but most times, he does not need the knife.

Yes, I was going for humor. I suppose patina is golden, as usual. It would be funny if it showed up at the Buck Spa though.......jaws would drop.
