Very odd Buck knife if it’s real

Could be a while as Joe will probably hunt in Idaho and then the Canadian Rockies and then Alaska and then Africa.......so........see ya around Christmas.

Haha, I’ve been checking the web for info on old Buck knives ever since this thread came up ha. It is interesting and I learned a lot of history more than I knew before so that’s okay. I didn’t want to quip in cause I wanted to wait till auction ended and I have little knowledge of old Buck fixed blades to add anyway.

I never did find the actual auction so I hope the buyer will share some pictures and any further details about the knife. That would be excellent!
 
Or maybe "experts."

Some have a few suspect "Buckensteins" at home and thus are quick to call things authentic to make theirs more credible.

But when all you have is a Buck stamp on an old knife that shows no other characteristics of the work of Hoyt or any other Buck........I'd say go slowly before throwing down a big chunk of money.

But ..... there will always be gamblers among us.

And sometimes gambles pay off.

For now........we have speculation on a very interesting old knife.

And an interesting opinion thread.

This is sad, This has happening again. over and over again. I have avoided and stayed off the subject but if you all dont report then nothing will happen and this place will dwindle down again in frustration. Everyone knows what i am talking about. Quit allowing it.
 
I don't know what is happening but am interested in if a final determination of authenticity is reached by whomever is the established authority.

Also, I'm in!

Somebody said he was hunting and doesn't work Fridays anyway.

So.......if he comes back on Monday after hunting he'll probably have a few hundred e-mails to read.

Like I said before........maybe he'll keep hunting for weeks. I would if I was him.
