No not really. You really carry one in each pocket of that filson ?

Have you found it convenient or even natural feeling to reach up there for your knife ?No not really.

Thanks Jack. Kinda part of the tradition. I've seen guys wearing ties at a branding.
When I was a boy, my two grandfathers both wore a suit and tie everyday to go to work, one worked on the railway lines, and the other was a wire-weaver, and though they didn't wear neck-ties, both my dad and my uncle went to work in suits, though they worked on the shop-floor of an engineering factory. My uncle always wore a white shirt and cuff-links!![]()

Ya'd be surprised how many cowboys wear white shirts all the time. Its almost a uniform. I counted once, I have nine.
I had a Filson wool jacket many years ago. Waist length, it was perfect for riding and I was really doing a lot of that back then, 35-40 different horses a week. Extremely well made, functional garment although sized funny. It was a large and I'm not a large in anybody's book, well since maybe the 6th grade or something. I'm an XLT sometimes and most shirts etc 2XLT. However, I tried it on when I bought it and it was just right, at a feed store up in Bishop that was also a Filson dealer. I just recently passed it on to my son who, while not riding as many horses is still putting in many, many hours horseback every week. I tried carrying a folder in those pockets on the left chest and it never worked for me. Always seemed awkward and sometimes ya needed two hands. One to push on the bottom of the pocket and the other to pull the knife out of the top. I wanted the knife to sit deep, as occasionally some of those ponies could get a little bouncy, didn't want to loose the Moore Maker. I ended up just carrying and this was occasionally, as most of the time I didn't; a small flashlight there. But if I knew I was gonna be feeding after dark I'd stick it in there cause it was kinda handy.
Good for you DaveYou've spent a lot of years in the saddle Dave!

Yep earned these bowed legs! Still am, on my new filly, Lil Sis:

She's young yet, has good days and bad days. That above, last weekend was a good day. This link below, two days ago, was a bad day. My son on her and my daughter in law picking up the heels. Notice Lil Sis's teeth when she comes back into the frame as my son gets shorter on the rope. Thats how I knew she was having a bad day, she was "bitchy" as my daughter in law put it.

I should add, some days we call her Brown Sugar and other days we call her Spicy Mac!
Who makes that?My favorite vest with pockets big enough to carry just about any knife I own.

the vest is Swanndri, New Zeeland. The blade is J. Marttiini.Who makes that?
That would be great for fishing, I just use an old BDU shirt with the sleeves cut off but most of my stuff goes in a small pack when I occasionally have an opportunity to cast a line and I'm mostly just running crankbaits.
