Victorinox says goodbye to distributors

I'm just offering advice. The information comes from distributors, obviously. You can take it or leave it, as I said above. It doesn't matter to me one whit. I'm just trying to be helpful.

it doesn't mater, morrowj_98 corroborated with the notice from felinevet.sosakonline.com. But short answers like this and the ones you have posted previously in the thread don't really add much clout to your original post. Thank you for the information, i will take it into account when purchasing SAKs in the near future.

Amazon already screws small-time sellers on its site by not allowing them to combine shipping/etc, on top of commissions. And now this?

Either way, as I've said in other threads, I've found Amazon hopelessly overpriced for most of the knife models I'm interested in.

I'm not interested in clout. Apparently you are.

This kind of makes me want to grab another Alox Pioneer, if it's going to become harder to find them for under 20$ in the near future...

Also, Knife_Outlet: Relax. Don't get excited because you don't grasp the concept of corroborating your facts - it's perfectly reasonable for someone to question information provided by some random guy when that fellow refuses to back up his claims. Until morrowj_98 posted his link, it seemed for all the world like you pulled this information out of your backside.

You don't care that your words are rude and arrogant? Why is that?

why is asking for a source rude and arrogant?

Do you think that journalists just post what ever they feel like in the news paper? no, they get their information from someplace and they will site their sources in a lot of cases. When you had to write reports for school you have to list your sources so your teachers can check to make sure your information is correct. There is no reason for you to be angry over this.

Are you just trying to give him a hard time or what? The guy tries to give us a heads up and along you come as if you want to pretend at being the grand inquisitor.

Judging by your "random guy" statement, I take it that you aren't familiar with the web retailer Knife Outlet. And, if you are, why in the world do you think one with that large of a business would conceivably pull this sort of information out of thin air?

In other news, time for me to sign off the forums for awhile. Apparently there is madness everywhere today.

I'm not trying to give him a hard time, i just don't understand why he doesn't get the need to site sources.

Amazon seemed always has the lowest price, and it complains for undercutting other online sellers? Doesn't make any sense to me.

You can post a link of the "news"...or be prepared to answer where you GOT the news.

Its not too much to ask....and its not questioning anyones integrity....its called verification.

As for MAP...if "everyone starts doing it" manufacturers can simply lower their prices.

No one PAYS $220 for a knife that can be bought all day long for $160....so if held to MAP they can adjust it....or lose sales.

The market adjusts.....products move.

Because it is insulting to say something and have some assume I'm a fraud or a liar. It is just plain rude and arrogant. I'm not a journalist or a teacher. I'm an individual on an internet forum sharing information. I don't care if you think the information is correct or not. It makes no difference to me. I don't you sources or anything else. I would be pleased if you would put me on your ignore list just like I'm putting you on mine. Then we won't have encounter each other again.

So my recommendation to you is to assume that everything you read is a lie and that way you'll never be worried about being duped.

Not a problem. I promise not to post anything newsworthy again. I'll leave it up to someone else.

Easy Sport....:D

Hey, I appreciate the heads up...but I dont get why you're all defensive when someone asks "where'd you get this news?"

Its a non-threatening, normal question.

Newsflash**** RUMORS DO EXIST OUT THERE ON THE NET.

My thoughts exactly. I know KO works at a knife store, and while I don't really care what Victorinox does, I don't think it's wrong to include your sources. If you would have said "I don't really have any more information", that would've ended it right there. Thanks for the info though.

Just chiming in to say: Death to all big companies!! Amazon used to be cool, now it sucks like all the other robber-baron businesses.

Wow, just wow. I don't even know how to react to this.

Yes, I've found the above to be true also, so I guess I too am not understanding how Amazon would do this in response to smaller, cheaper priced vendors. Amazon has great prices on Victorinox knives as far as I'm concerned. Most seem to be from $15 to $25.
