every time I pick this knife up it talks to my hand and says: "we were made for each other"

I am really digging the Dan 2. This series is really unique. How are the edges? Not sharp wise, but is the blade ground thin? I hate thick bevels.

Yes, compared to a Spyderco for example defitely thinner. My Dan 2 is ground thinner towards the tip too. I've convexed the edge bevel on mine but I wouldn't say it was essential. A real slicer:)

Mine came sharp too:)

That makes me happy to hear. I may convex it since it's such a simple shape. That is, if and when I get one.

How much difference in weight is there between the G10's and the CF's?

Not too much, as I handled both today. My CF Dan2 came in the mail with a scratched blade, so I drove over to BHQ to exchange it. Unfortunately they only had a silver twill Dan2 left, so I checked that one out. The silver twill G10 looks really nice and doesn't seem to add too much weight, but alas, it also had a scratched blade, so I came away empty.

In the end, though, I prefer the Dan1, personally. It has a thicker tip, sits even with the scales when closed, and just looks prettier to me. Having said that, if the silver twill Dan2 had not been scratched, I would own it right now.

That's unfortunate about the scratches.

Where on the blade were they? Same spot on both knives?

Received mine last night. Small scratch on the blade as well. I need to look it over more...very toothy edge also. The satin finish on this will scratch easily it seems. All in all really impressed. Very sold well built folder. Strong detent. It will be a user so I'm sure the scratch will be fine for me in the end. Pics to follow later!

mine also has a small one on the presentation side at the start of the primary bevel, right under the flats. It's not very noticeable tho, you really need to look for it, so I don't really care.

No. The first one had a long snail trail curving from the spine to the edge. The second had two parallel short scratches on the grind. These kind of things bug me, so I couldn't forgive. Mine hasn't suffered any scratches yet, but I haven't put it through much.

I don't mind if I put the scratches in, I just don't want them coming to me that way.

Very Nice! :D

Because I said I would.
