Viper Dan club - super exclusive!

Hiya Gentlemen,

I'ma dropping out of this club, sadly. Trying to pair back the collection to just 3 knives, and having to finance my grail project makes keeping the Dan2 a no-go for me. So if any of y'all wanna pick up a CF Dan2, there's one to grab in the Exchange.

Bruhs. BRUUUUUUUUHS!!! I just found about this knife thanks to FriarPhenn's sale post and I am LOVING IT! I'm an avowed wharncliffe junkie as well as a carbon fiber fan and lover of smooth, clean curves, so when I saw this it was love at first sight. :love_heart: It's also challenging all the things I thought I loved about knives...locks and flippers have been required for me but now, maybe not! Plus it's available at Lamnia for $118 SHIPPED! Criminy what a deal!

So put me down as a "prospective owner" for sure!

One day I will be part of this 'super exclusive' club. One day...

I fell in love with the Dan 2 since the moment I laid my eyes on it, and this thread isn't helping to subside my lust for it!

It's a beautiful knife. Accomplishes a lot and does it with very simplistic lines. The lockup is actually very solid, the tang makes it feel secure in-hand.

I was going to try and add something that was worthy of your typical whit and banter, but drew a blank. :D

Wait...now EVERY post I make has to be funny? Oh man, thanks...NO PRESSURE or anything! Stupid well-deserved reputation for hilarity!

Yeah man, pressure. SO. MUCH. PRESSURE. I'ma crank them screws down on that 'cooker and turn your posts into fall-off-the-bone shortribs. Them's tasty eatin', and no mistake. And if that don't make every one o' yer posts rib-splittin' hilarious, I'll talk to Ol' Babe and have him sit his ten-ton ox butt on the cooker to crank up the pressure even more. 'Course, now that I think about it, we could conspire together and throw BABE in the 'cooker, and have enough ribs to last the week, maybe two. I like my ribs. But we'll need a giant cooker. Like, REAL big. Dunno where we'll find something like that. Man. That's a lot of pressure to make this barbecue happen.

Dude. Stop putting so much pressure on me for the eats.

:p

(Seriously. I appreciate your humor, man. Keep it real!)

Yes sir! Understood, sir! Will set to my penance, sir!

Went to BHQ today to check out a burgundy micarta Dan 2. While fiddling with it, it bit me hard on my left thumb knuckle. As a result, I took the hint and sent it back to the chasm that is the BHQ warehouse. The fates have spoken, I guess. I'll stick with my cf Dan 1

I'll be picking up where Jed left off ;) as his has become mine and I agree with the rest of you guys, it certainly is a nice knife for a very modern like NewAge Slip joint folder and she was still quite sharp as well.

I'm tempted to get the micarta one, as I do like a bit more texture to the handle, but the built in guard works great, very comfortable knife!

Thanks again Jed!

Thanks, it's a very cool knife, couldn't resist any longer, while I'm not a 'collector' I ordered the micarta today, will post up pic's when I can...

That colour doesn't suit me either but whatcha gonna do?

Welcome, Gary. You're definitely a worthy add to this here ultra exclusive club. You now have permission to lord this over everyone you know and act pretentious and snooty.

I'm glad Jed's knife made it to a good home, they really are great blades, and very pretty. Maybe you could just get someone like spketch to whip you up some nice micarta scales you could swap out if you think the burgundy is a bit too much on the pink side.

Thanks and yes, they definitely are more towards the pinkish colour but waiting is even less a strong suit of mine ;) perhaps I can dye them or at the very least have them get a shade darker, I'll check into that once it arrives.

Here's a couple images of the Dan 2 taken tonight;

As you can see, I opted not to run the para cord through the clip's hole, but instead have the clip help to prevent the cord from swinging around into the path of the blade, this allows you can still have a lanyard and the deep carry pocket clip still works well too :)
