Daily, it's usually an ALOX in a kydex necker paired with a nice traditional or celidor SAK for my pocket. Add a pocket light when the weather is bad (we lose the electricity out here often). Trips to town usually require adding small kit in the console with a couple of SAKs (usually a 111mm + a big 91mm (like a Swiss Champ), a flashlight and a multitool.
Living in Tornado Alley and losing most of the farm to a wildfire, we keep "go" kits/bags of gear ready for emergencies. They include various SAKs stored in weather/wildfire/emergency bags. Swiss Champs/Farmers/ Soldiers/ OHT's along with flashlights, batts, first aid kits, scanner, SW and 2 way radios etc. Larger fixed blades, a fence tool and a saw/axe are also in there. My daypacks have other stuff including compasses, repair kits and a 22 pistol. Here's a field sewing kit I threw together (along with my Vic Trail Guide)..
Vics are a mainstay in the bags.
Also have a rifle scabbard with a small kit on it for trips out to the stock tank (scouting for hogs and such). The kit has a Vic 111mm Hercules, pocket first aid kit, paracord, multitool, ammo etc.
Out here in the sticks, it pays to have something ready to throw into the truck during emergencies. Never again will we get caught flat footed.
