Vlad contacted me this morning in response to one of my requests for microtech Makora's. Does anyone know if he is a valid dealer?

What Keith said.

I would not deal with him under any circumstances. Pointing to fruad ... not exactly he has committed fraud on numerous occasions.

Thanks for the posts. Hey can you guys recomend a reputable dealer that sells microtech knives (Makora's, or Ultras).
Thanks

I would recommend Bob Bartoli and Thebrightedge.com.

Admin/Mods- if this is inapropriate, please remove.

He asked for a recommendation and you gave him one. I can't see where there is anything inappropriate about that. As far as I am concerned Bob has an excellent reputation and deserves to be recommended.

I confirm the postings above. IF this is Vlad Pavlov from Israel, he has defrauded and attempted to defraud a number of people, all with good reputations. He will probably cheat you. Even if his intentions are (in this case), entirely honorable, he is currently under investigation by the Fraud unit of the Israel Police, and may soon not be in a position to conclude deals with anyone.

hello. I am the co-manager of a knife forum in Israel. I have seen your warnings and taken steps against this guy at my forum.
I would like to apologize to everyone who got hurt by this guy-he is a small exception, an anomaly, of the knife community in Israel.
I sincerely hope that this will not affect commerce and the exchange of knowledge between our countries.
thank you,
doron.

I have purchased Microtechs from Dave's Knife World and Bill at Finer Cutlery and both were smooth transactions. Good luck!

With all due respect, here goes.

First off, nobody here in our knife world would hold a country responsible for the actions of one citizen.

The Vlad Pavlov story is well documented and at last count, he has stolen well over $100,000.00 worth of knives from collectors, dealers and Knifemakers over the last 2 years. Many of these knives ended up being sold on knife forums in Russia.

I, and a few others, have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to have this POS arrested but to no avail. The Israelis have done what they could, but as the frauds (shipments) emanated from North America and then to Israel (from what I know) there has to be some supporting claims made from Law enforcement/Postal authorities from our side (s)- this has not happened, to my knowledge.

Your post here, Mr. Doron, is suspicious to me. Although it is your prerogative, you are anonymous, you hide your email address and do not accept private messages. You also do not mention the name of your forum that you are supposedly a co manager.

You, Doron, could very well actually be Vlad Pavlov.

Where have you been all this time, when Pavlov's name has been thrown around on this forum and others for over a year? If you are a manager of a knfie forum in Israel or anywhere, you must have been aware of this creep? You registed here on 10/14/06 and only jumped in now?

To the gentlepeople of Bladeforums- Sorry of I am appearing to be hard nosed here. However, Doron's post just smells to me.

Neil

Neil, Ductor's silence leads me to believe your suspicions were absolutely correct!!!!
Doron would have been far more active, especially in light of your post.
Good Job Neil, you sre hereby Deputized!!!:D

Hi

Thanks for the kind words, but who knows? From what I see he has not been active here since his one and only post.

But, he could very well be around under a different name and was watching to see the reaction.

I seem to remember that Vlad Douche bag was once here (or somewhere) under another name once and when he was discovered he laughed and said that he was going to start stealing long bows, or something like that. I have only a vague recollection of that.

Anyway, scumbags are all around us- we have to keep vigilant. You guys are all doing a great job here making us aware of the small but dark side of this business.

Take care, Neil

I ask again-
Anyone who has been ripped off by Vlad, please get in touch with me.
I need documentation--policve reports, insurance claims, etc.

I do not imagine that there is much chance of getting your money back.

But wouldn't it be very nice to see Vlad's legal troubles multiply big time?:D

Ducktor--if you are on an Israeli knife forum, I would like to hear about it.
I am moving back to Israel soon, and would love to participate.

A number of makers who are personal friends are planning to visit-
we could have some fun times.

At present, I do not know of any Israeli knife forums. I am not saying that none exist--I just don't know of them.

Vlad Pavlov posted in another thread about him (basically to say, "You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!") That was a while ago but I wouldn't doubt that he searches the net for posts about him regularly.

As I recall someone from an Israeli knife forum posted in that thread too. I don't have time to search for it right now.

Well, if anyone gets a chance....
Of course, one of the first things that I would do on an Israeli knife forum is get all the info available on this pondscum.
