Enrique, that is as nice a stockman as any I have ever seen. Truly a wonderful knife! Blues, you need to take very good care of that one! - Ed J

P.S. - I really like the pen blade!!! Fabulous!

damn fine looking. A lot of guy think this is one of the hardest knifes to make if you can build this there is a lot of patterns it open a guy up to.

Well, Rick, judging by yours I'm certainly expecting to see more big things down the road.

So, Elliott: when does the passaround start? I got dibs on first spot! :D

Very nice piece, especially the jigging, and the pen blade. I turn the spay on some of my Stockman patterns into a pen, especially on my hard users.

Chris, I love ya like a brother but I'd suggest getting out to the market and stocking up on your supplies while you're waiting... ;)

Thanks for the good words.

Unfortunately, I am unable to whistle through the computer. The closest thing I could do was to post this

Ironically, I am going to the farmer's market tomorrow morning. :) I'll double up.

Question on the blade edges: did Enrique sharpen each to a specified angle, or are you doing that yourself? Just wondering.

Chris,

The knife is due to arrive sometime today.

I didn't discuss angles whatsoever with Enrique. I normally just ask makers to get 'em as sharp as they are capable of and I take over from there.
As you can imagine, the continuum in this regard runs the whole gamut from "not so sharp" to "wicked".

A few months ago Enrique hooked up with Jerry Halfrich for a visit and he enhanced his sharpening skills during their time together. If the HTT I received around the holidays is any indication, the edges should be just fine.

Since I generally use the three blades of my stock knives for different purposes, eventually they just get sharpened to meet the needs of the task. I don't worry too much about the degrees. I just try to keep them thin but durable.

It takes a while for knives to arrive at the Blues compound...I think these guys are the local posties.

Oh well, when you get it, you'll enjoy it anyway. Looks like a darn fine one. ;)

Judging by the image Kerry posted it looks like the subliminal message is that it takes at least two men to keep this particular blind ass in line. ;)

:p

Chris,

Can't wait to see some pictures Elliott, looks like a real nice one!
I hope you have more sun up there than we do down here so you can get some natural light on it.

It's been rainin' and dreary around here. Enough so that I have to push my Weimaraner off the porch by his hind quarters to get him to take care of business. (Lazy good for nothin'...) :p

(I still hope to get some pix after it arrives, weather and light permitting.)

Cool - if you're getting the same weather we are, you should be able to get some really good pics. We'll look forward to seeing them.

Nope, that's the North Carolina 1903 NASCAR Champions with their All-State-Speed-Record setting donkey, 'Turtle'. Ol' boy hit 12 mph at the State Championships that year. The economy there has never been too good, being based mostly on, well, certain corn products, you know. ;) The USPS Smoky Mountain Division simply can't afford such high performance vehicles.

Those odd, knife-loving mountain folk are a quirky bunch. They scare me sometimes. ;)

Bosse, you and I are going to have to get together someday. The highlighted portion of your quote (above) is the very essence of a discussion I had with Enrique on the phone last night. (Up to and even including the reference to my good friend Mr. Erickson.) You have hit the nail squarely on the head in my humble opinion.:cool:

A little gettogether would for sure be a nice moment Elliot. In an occation like that you know emptying the pockets would be one of the events. There are a few people here on the forums that would be nice seing in real life, you being one of them.

There are a little (eg. BIG) dream in the future to travel to US and canada with wife and sons. That doesnt involve so much tourist things and places but more of tasting the country. I dont long or lust for big cities, but LA would be nessisarry as my wife lived there 1/2 a year once. Otherwise i would want to see prerie and dessert and rocky mountains, I always want to test the taste of original food and to smell, feel and listen to the environment as well as seing it.
Im not a truly religious man but I like churchvisits during activity and I like to see humans work. Mabye a barberque with nice people to get a chanse to talk about how they live their lifes. If I was in the right neigbourhood I would ask Sunnyd if he could take me fishing or Look at Kerrys tools. And I would try to wisit carl for seeking the wisdom of the peanut.

A trip like that would involve some "trying to by a few knifes, mostly a medium jackknife, a old scoutknife and a extra case medium stokman and mabye a nice lockback like a small copperlock tho the very nice case 105 clippoint isnt prodused longer.

Well, the Pony Express just arrived and I dodged the raindrops to take a few images out on the porch for you all...I haven't had a real chance to play with this knife just yet but I can tell you that it's a fine piece of craftsmanship and is smooth as silk. I think you'll agree...

Congrats to you and Enrique!

Really nice scales, both the jigging and color.
These knives are tough to build and my hats off to Enrique for wanting to push his skills.
