Waiting lists

Like I said, Bill is well rid of this guy.

It doesn't say anywhere in that rambling missive that Bill asked him for the money, as your original post said.

What's more, his accusation that Bill had taken his money and then sold his knife at the show was utterly baseless and patently false. In my opinion, he owes Bill an apology - as do you for going out of your way to repeat it in detail here on the forum.

The e-mail seems to confirm exactly what Bill reported - namely - we are talking about a period of less than a month wherein various issues delayed delivery of the knife. During that time, Bill communicated with this guy to let him know the reasons.

One more question - this thing goes back to 2005 - and you're raising it now? Why??

Thanks for another terrific contribution to the forum, David.

Roger, No need to be rude..
........ As for your earlier statement, no i am not bringing this up now, Bill is. My original post was meant as a general issue, but has become specific. I saved the emails but didn't expect to need to retrieve for this, now.
David

2knife - you are, without doubt, one of the most insidious members of this forum! It is characters like you that have me spending less and less time here!

Whether your account or Bills account is true is irrelevant ..... this sort of discussion should remain off the boards unless they pertain to an act of fraud , deception, or theft and the purpose is to protect other collectors or makers....... and this case categorically pertains to NONE of those acts and is nothing more than irresponsible gossip and defamation of character.

You have one of the most fantastic collections of Fowler knives I have seen - unfortunately I can think of no one less deserving.

Stephen

Is this not saying send payment..

No, it is not.

Did you save any of the e-mails where your buddy decides he wants the knife (which, as it happened, was NOT sold at the Reno show - as you both allege) after all?

Roger

This is the kind of talk that should not happen on a forum. It's baseless and irresponsible. It's the kind of fuel people that hate forums need. Only two men know the truth and one is talking through a friend.

The bottom line is the man was unhappy, justified or not, and Bill did the right thing. HE IMMEDIETLY RETURNED HIS MONEY! End of story. The details don't matter. Good job Bill and thank you for holding your composure and handling this like a professional knife maker would. Many makers would not have shown the professionalism here that you have.

The other two men should end it now. You are out of line doing this in public and the bottom line is it didn't cost this guy a penny!

Discussing what form of payment is acceptable has nothing to do with saying that it is time to send payment. Besides that, nothing Bill did was anything other than being considerate to the situation of the person that ordered the knife. Something he did not get in return.

..precisely the reason this was an "annonymous" thread to start. i hold no ill will, but think people should be true to the details.

Hey Choke!!!
Next time that sympathy card gets played and you offer up a $2500.00 knife, for say $1000.00 and the deal gets to this point. Instead of calling Blade Gallery would you call
ME!!!!
Please.
Thanks
KCC

no problem KCC. The very next time I decide to sell a 2500 dollar knife for a grand I will call you. Thank you everyone else for the support.

Resurrecting to apologize to Bill.

Sorry Bill,
I was wrong on many counts, and airing it on this thread, publicly. It may not change anything- how you feel about me now, but i just wanted to say sorry. It has been bothering me ever since, knowing i have made several poor judements in regard to you, and calling your business into question. I now realize this was wrong, stupid of me. If you can, please accept my apology.

And, your knives clearly show, you are a RARE talent. I only wish the best for you.
David
