Wal Mart tins!!

Just FYI the WW in Fairfax, VA had about 30. They all had the "regular" tang stamp. Out of those 30 I found 1 that had really distinctive coloring. ALmost like a zebra stripe. I am going to check the other tomorrow to see what they have.

I took the UPC code to a local W-W today - read it on a pole-mounted 'Price Checker' (scanner). It displayed '110 Collector $30'. Hmmm, and they don't have it... I asked a kindly 'Sports' clerk to check that UPC - said they had 31 of them - but where. A check of their storeroom came up empty. Then, a trailer... and there they were! They don't know why they aren't on the el-cheapo Win/Rem knife display... perhaps they are being held for the 'Blitz' - their day after Thanksgiving sale. Well, one went home with me - it has a dark stripe in the reddish scales - maybe it really is paddauk. No date code on the blade! I will keep it packaged - for a bit - and will try the W-W up the street after Thanksgiving.

Check the UPC code on a handheld scanner via a clerk - it'll tell you how many are in - and that there are no more coming. They will have to find them, of course... and not many W-W folk are that ambitious!

The only WM in my area that has a good selection of knives (Layton) only had a few of the 110 tins left today. Two weeks ago they had a whole feature display full of them in an aisle. I thought about getting one until I looked closely at them. They seemed to be over polished with the edges buffed round. I thought it gave them a cheap look that I didn't like so I passed.

They have then in the case in one of the stores here. Only one of each tin, not sure if they are afraid of theft or what.

Probably a good one to check once the mark downs start if they keep them hidden in the case.

Ok, just how many have been found with the 03[?] tang stamp??????????? At WW here all had the regular stamp..........Now Ill have to check other WW!

Finally got mine!(after about a hundred dollars of wasted gas!) Blade is super tight with great walk and talk. the scales are slightly mismatched in color but who cares i bought it to use... I looked thru several and didn't see one with a date stamp.

Found an aisle display full at the Lexington, SC Walmart. I picked out two of the 110's, but could not resist one set of the pocket knives. I know they are Chinese, but they look pretty nice. I looked through every single one of the 110's, but nothing except the circular holiday blade stamps. I am not sure what this wood is supposed to look like, but I found two with nice figure, one of which looks like tiger stripe. If the Walmarts are only getting limited quantities with no restocking, I will be surprised if there are very many left for any after Christmas clearances.:)

Got my SIX in the mail today....all the same stamp....opened two and keeping four in the package...great looking knife

I ordered two and had them delivered to my house on Tuesday. Ordered two more today for store pick up to see how that works out.

I really like the shinny blade on the 110....Wally World has the three set on their web site IN STOCK now.........................

I've hit three stores with the tins on clearance. The 110's are at $8 and the chinese threefers are $6.00. ;) Each time I've purchased as many as I could. Better get em while you can. I think I'm going to hit all the Wal Marts I can in a 200 mile radious to see if I can make any more good buys. Anybody need at tin, I'll be selling mine on Ebay for $45.00 like last years tins are bringing. :foot:;)

Wow...the tins have not even been put out in my hood yet!!!!! I can't understand how WM works???? I ordered 4 of them about a week ago and no info about them getting shipped or anything.....However, the card was billed ASAP....at least that part of their corporation works fine:rolleyes::mad::eek:.

Well......he shouldn't be;):D;) around about such a serious topic!!!!!

Thanks for explaining his JOKE. :grumpy::grumpy:

However.....it did inspire me to make calls to several Wallie's within 40 miles of me and nobody has ANY of these in yet.

Sigh.

I'm not joking. I used the blink emotion because the emotion had something in it's eye.

The latest haul was some $7.0 110's and $4.00 threefers.
