Walking Dead Season 5 (HEADS UP: Possible Episode Spoilers May Be Posted Within)

This show has never blown my skirt up and I resisted when many said it's a "must-see" but after much arm twisting from a buddy or two I viewed a few episodes here/there since season two.

So, as never being a huge fan of the program and never having read the comic/graphic novel(s) I am a bit ignorant to much of it, but am familure enough to not feel compleley "out of the loop". All that said, to say this...

I did a little Internet search for The Walking Dead No Way Out Synopsis and if the show follows it...many may be happy---from comments I've read on opinions about the current group and living situation.

Well they announced the spin off is "Walking Dead:Los Angeles" as someone who lived in LA for 25 years I am looking forward to it. I have actually grown a bit tired of the wilderness and want some urban destruction! In the first season my favorite episode was "Vatos" and it will be interesting to see the craziness of the city.

Seems odd that folks that soft coulda fortified Alexandria. Given that it's such a metro area, where are all the walkers outside the walls? Even Sasha seemed surprised not to stir them when she was shooting up the pictures on the outside.

Good point. Have people in Alexandria found a way to keep the majority of the dead away. A method that is good enough that they feel that confident? And, that they have had long enough to become this "soft"..... So far we have one politician (never a reassuring presence) and one doctor. Who are the rest of them?....

Gotta believe they have learned something from the last two communities they went into... here's to hoping this show actually goes somewhere. I've been in since episode 1. I would hate to have that "I'll never get that time back" feeling like I did when I watched Lost.

Loaned my Blu-Ray set of Season 1 to a work colleague, I got asked during the week if "it was scary" , as in are the Zombies "scary"... I was a bit stumped as I think the "situation" is scary but the zombies themselves... 'en mass they certainly are, but really not so much, they are predictable. I explained it is not horror movie frightening at all, in fact, other living people and nature are the most dangerous thing to be encountered (as is the case in life).

I know. It's hard though, to imagine Rick turning into what he fought so hard against. We shall see. Either way this week's episode looks promising. I am curious though... where is this going? I'm in on the spin off too. Either way, it's an awesome show and gives me something to look forward to Sunday nights. I simply loved Carol last episode. Awesome, just awesome.

They were soft from the start. Keep in mind, the walls when up right after the outbreak too place. So for about two and a half years (amount of time has passed since the Dead began to walk), the folks in Alexandria haven't had to deal with walkers for the vast majority of that time. Boss Lady likely realizes that they'd be easy pickings if the Dead ever did show up in force, or (more likely) if a group of weary and battle-hardened survivors found Alexandria. So..... Best to hand-pick a group of such survivors, invite them in, make the new community into a very strong one, and have all your bases covered.

Still doesn't explain the lack of walkers. No guards? (Heck!, they don't seem to want any ).... They aren't even ready to defend themselves against a sudden attack. Doesn't make sense to remain this careless while waiting for the next group of "battle hardened survivors" to arrive.

Wall or no wall, doesn't make sense that such a "weak" group would survive. You still need to get food, gas, tools, all kinds of equipment; to ,not only survive, but keep the place going in such a pristine state.....

Well, there are the Whisperers but that would be wildly out of sequence with comics.

Carl's knife looks like a Cold Steel Laredo Bowie.

Thanks for the helping with the blade!

The Whisperers would be WAY out of place right now, considering they don't show up until after Negan. But that'd be interesting to see them on the show. Who knows, just when they get close enough to the source material, Sophia walks out the barn. Or Judith lives. Or Andrea dies. Or the cannibals are really smart. Or whatever, too many twists and turns.

Didn't Diana say that the military had pretty much evacuated everyone from the area at the very beginning of the outbreak? Might be why they are fairly walker free.

Yep. Just rewatched the part where Diana was interviewing Rick and she said that millions of people were evacuated from northern Virginia, leaving hardly anybody behind, "living or dead".

Maggie should speak up the second Gabriel left. Put an end to that. Paint him as the crazy preacher. But I doubt that will happen. If they truly were watching Ricks group, they'd know who they were dealing with. I doubt there are too many ruthless murderous groups traveling with a teenager and a baby.
