How is it hijacking another members sale....2 people selling the same knife, and he was nice enough to add the disclaimer to wait until after Jay's sold?!
 
I see he catches much flack in other areas, but he has always been well received here. So I guess only 1 person can sell each type of knife at a time. Watch out everyone with Game Wardens...you are all about to be banned!!!
 
Thats just the rule here guys. No hijacking another member's sale thread. If he had offered his up, even at the lower cost, without mentioning Raden's sale post he would still be a member here and be able to sell his knife without issue. As it is, he effectively thumbed his nose at the mods, the rules and then gave Raden a big juicy wet willie. At least, thats how I see it. Even were it not the rules here, I'd expect that you Hogs would never go over the top of another's head, in public, and state that, "he's selling for $XXX but I'll knock $100 off."

Thats just not cool. Not unless we're all salesmen trying to turn a profit.


Further, its not any certain mods doing this. I guarantee you that WM simply accrued enough infraction points that the system automatically banned him.
 
I've defended WM on several occasions. But recently he has seemed to have multiple personalities that are not as smart or friendly as the WM I met when I first came to BF. That's too bad.
 
I tried a couple of times to reason with WM regarding his recent rants and meltdowns in W&C and elsewhere. That activity, no doubt, put him under scrutiny, and it may have contributed to infraction points.

Rules are rules though, if they are not followed there is always someone glued to the computer screen just waiting for you to slip up, sad but true...

I personally think that he should have just posted the knife for what he was willing to sell it for, without referencing the other sale.

Ban worthy?
Not on its own, but as others have stated, it may have been an accumulation of points.
 
I bet alot of it has to do with his W&C actions as previously mentioned. He has acted really strange and aggressive in other parts of the forums but then he acts completley different here?

WM never blatantly stated how much Jay's knife was and it's the same knife.....so yes, he was wrong for using a link to Jay's thread, but what other reason than for the picture of the same knife he is selling, as WM stated, he wouldn't sell his till Jay's was sold. He should have take his own picture. Banishment is too much for this. I thought hijacking was posting in someone else's thread.....I could have just misinterpreted the use of the word.
 
It is hard to truly know someone from scattered posts here on BF.
Many of the people I don't care for here are probably nice folks.

That being said...I met WM and quickly determined that he was a stone cold IDIOT!
 
Does anyone think that the first knife would have sold with Walking Man's offer on the table? He was banned because of the hyjacking of the thread, in effect, killing the other sale of a fellow member. The point system probably nailed him and not the Mod. He seemed to have two personalities on BF, one real nice, and then the other in two other forums. I really feel bad for him and for the forums. His good side will be missed.

I think that this would be considered sale hijacking as opposed to thread hijacking. If he meant to wait until Raden's sold, why post a thread linking to Raden's sale thread and offer his for a lower price, effectively reducing Raden's chances of selling his knife? Either he wasn't thinking at all or actually waiting until Raden's knife sold was not really his intent. Either way, he's been here long enough that he should have known better. What he should have done is just keep quiet all together or simply offer his knife for whatever price he wanted without mentioning any other member's sale.


And I agree with the others who said that, in itself, it is not an offense worthy of banning. But, WM started digging himself into that hole a long time ago and, in the last month or so, almost seemed to be asking for it. Outside of the Busse family forums, and even within them at times, WM often seemed to turn into the figurative Mr. Hyde.
