I had one if-y knife transaction with WM a while ago but it ended well and I recently had another transaction with him that went well. I guess we all have our bad days. I have only read his threads in the Busse Combat Knife forum though.

actually eric, i posted it here for the very simple reason, walking man is none on the busse forums, and his friends or foes are here on the busse forum

Actually, Walking man has been waging a campaign of lunacy against imagined foes for quite some time, all in other forums.

Banishment is too much for this.

I sort of doubt it's just this one infraction. WM has been thumbing his nose at the mods for some time--seemingly trying to see just how close he could come to the edge of the envelope. He indicated as much in his 10,000 posts poll, where one of his own options was "retire, and quit causing grief for the mods (yeah, right!)". Quite a few people tried to get him to calm down, myself among them, but he seemed intent on other purposes.

I actually considered moving it to Service and Support, Whine and Cheese and or the GBU. ;)

I decided to go with GBU. However, it may well be moved to Service and Support. ( I chose GBU as it was more of a complaint than a "why did this happen")

The one thing I do know is that it sure didn't belong in the Busse forum.

This is moving on to Bladeforums Service & Support, but there's no harm in having a link to it in TGB&U.

Yes, Walking Man has walked the plank. The reason is in the Plank Log here --note the link in that post to his hijack.

Walking Man was a long-time member who was well known around Bladeforums. In recent weeks his behavior got pretty erratic and he offended a lot of people who used to like him, but even without that there is no way we could tolerate that hijack. He could have taken his own pictures and written his own ad and offered his knife for whatever price he wanted, or he could have gotten away with using the other member's ad if he had waited until the other member's sale was over, but he didn't. That was his choice.

You guys can't tell me that you would not take it personal and feel violated to a large extent if your thread was hijacked in such a way as this one was. Don't confuse the sale of the same knife with the hijacking or the cumulative effects of the point system. They are two distinct things. WalkingMan was not banned for selling the same knife as someone else. Feeling you have to watch now how you sell your knives or fearing you'd be banned for the sale of similar or identical knives is unwarranted worry.

Yes. I was sorry to see it happen ... because, of course, he was always kind to me. Not everyone had that experience with him.

He finally tap-danced over the edge. :(

It was only a matter of time before he got banned. Somewhere along the way he decided he wanted to push his luck and see how far he could go.

I did business with WM once. He was a week late on shipping but appoligized and gave me a really nice knife case.. I have had no problems with him, sux he got banned.
I just don't understand why he would do something so stupid on the exchange.
Why didn't he just list his AA seperately:confused:

Oh well, I'm sure he is gona pop up on the forums soon with a new name.

WM never blatantly stated how much Jay's knife was and it's the same knife.....so yes, he was wrong for using a link to Jay's thread, but what other reason than for the picture of the same knife he is selling, as WM stated, he wouldn't sell his till Jay's was sold. He should have take his own picture. Banishment is too much for this. I thought hijacking was posting in someone else's thread.....I could have just misinterpreted the use of the word.

What WM did was just as bad. True..he didn't post in the seller's thread...he frickin' stole it! He was too damn lazy to do the work himself to sell his knife, he made reference to the seller's post, and then offered it at a lower price. That's just as bad a hijacking. I doubt very highly WM would have waited until the other was sold. If the situation was reveresed he would have been the first one complaining about it and calling for someone's head.

I can't really tell what actually happened form the thread link, but I can say it's no surprise for me. I have been ignoring him for a looooong time.
