Wallet E&E Kit (photos and instructions)

Good point. Especially when you are stressed. Simple information may be critical to your survival.

Yeah, and I'm sure everyone was at some point in the past in this kind of situation and has had that experience. This also can happen in a survival or E&E situation very quickly when stressed, as you said. That's why I think it's a good idea to keep them in survival as well as E&E kits.

I have a Rite-In-The-Rain tablet in my main gear and I write down different types of info on it that I might forget when my mind goes to mush. Stuff like how much regular bleach to use in how much water to treat it. The directions from an Aquamira Straw because I'm too stupid to not suck charcoal dust if I get stressed. :D

If you want to see how excellent these tablets are, click on this link and go to my blog entry on them. They really are worth the money, to say the least. Join the blog, too. :)

I've got two of those small Rite In Rain notebooks (and the pen..) Really good gear. Glad to see the blog going fairly regularly to:thumbup:

In other news, I ordered one of the small titanium blades that's going to come with this kit...anyone have any ideas on how to "sheath" it...in other words, how to prevent the edge from going through something like duct tape? I was thinking a slice of plastic on the edge, held by duct tape...from there it could be relatively safely placed in a boot or waistband. I'm sure I'll figure something out once I have it in-hand, but any ideas are worthwhile..

I can't wait till these come out they are the only thing other than my wonderful wife keeping me from picking up an arrow head

Don, this reminded me of a funny story. My brother and I were hiking the AT and if you've ever been on the trail, particularly in the Spring, there are some real characters you meet at the shelters at night. One night we were in our tents listening to some of these "outdoors" people having the most moronic conversations ever. One asked, "How much bleach do you put in a gallon of water?" The other one responded with, "A quart per gallon, I think."

My brother and I couldn't stop laughing for like 30 minutes. We expected to crawl out of the tent in the morning and see a Jim Jones like scattering of people all over the ground.

I guess you CAN fix stupid....with enough bleach.

"Come to me my children, this world was never right for us...give me some bleach..." :D

I work next to a bar, the amount of stroking that two guys or a guy and a gal can do for each other when they're hammered is amazing, telling each other how smart they are and you're listening and thinking to yourself, "Yeah right!"

When people can do that and be stone sober, it is disconcerting. :D

My brother said, "Should we tell them the right formula?"

I said, "Heck no! The best thing these people can do is get out of the gene pool and eliminate any chance of passing that type of thinking on to another generation!"

will the individual parts be for sale on the site once the wallets come in? i know the blade and cards are up, but i'm also interested in the compass and key.

Very cool little kit, they will also make great gifts. Good job on putting it together, I'm picking up a few for sure!
