I'm married to a great women. Anyone who can put up with me is a great person.

However, she does think my interest (obsession?) in guns and knives is, uhhh..., ridiculous.

I'm a father of an 11 year-old son and an 8 year-old daughter.

I work in process engineering (no degree) for a major chemical company. We make paint products, paper coatings, adhesives, etc... Everything we make looks like Elmers glue. I do everything from writing software for our control system, to training reactor operators, to introducing new products into the plant.

Dont use my knives much at work (therapy and psychological research) and my colleagues do find it very odd that I jump at the chance to
brandish what they deem as rather menacing weapons. "Oh my God, you carry a switchblade! What do you need that for? Arent you afraid someone will get hurt? What do you do with your knives...do you whittle?"
Its fun though. I also jump at the chance to educate people about knives as tools. I find that people find it interesting that autos were developed for women (who broke their nails on early folders) and individuals who didnt have full use of their arms/hands. People also like to hear when I say that I have carried a knife for years and I use it every day, but not one single time as a weapon.
