Sorry, I don't get the point of this thread.

Your initial guestion, in effect, kindly includes those who have something to say (or who have no idea of what "making a living" might take), and it leaves out those who, JUST NOW, wonder, how to make a living. That's what you want?

More generally, I would be most interested to know, in which way you're going to use this (in part, astonishingly sensitive) information. Your question has a distinctive economical scent ("for a living"). I could think of someone in the (covertly) aggressive marketing world (God bless them, for they *are* wrong) asking something like that, but WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVES?

I, like most of us, wear several hats:
- husband
- owner of my own business (Creative Change Associates, an organizational development & change leadership consulting company)
- breeder of exceptional Weimaraners (all purpose hunting dogs and companions)
- adjunct instructor/professor at 3 colleges
- author
- philosopher
- Boy Scout leader

Markku,

I really don't think there is anything sinister in this thread. I think we all share a curiosity about this site's demographics. I for one continue to be amazed at the diversity and experience participants here reflect. If nothing else it adds a great deal of credibility to the opinions expressed that the industry folks pick up on.

And if one really wanted to get background on any of us, it's not all that difficult even starting with an e-mail handle. But rest assured, I do indeed understand your concerns.
