WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE: GEC Outlaw Jack #76

P,

If they would have done a long pull on the clip blade I would have gone for that over the copperhead bone.

Kevin

PS, I checked it out on a dealer sight that takes pretty decent photos and it looks much better than the factory photo. To me at least.

No reason for regrets IMO! That looks great, gives you what YOU want, and Im sure you were careful to avoid ruining the HT.

Thanks for sharing that.

Oh, and that is a beautiful and colorful photo to sum it all up :)

Thanks Kevin
In my experience the pen blades are by far the least used, but I like how you can use the coping blade like an X-acto knife for cutting out leather etc.
I used a rotating water stone to cut it off. I like my blade tips hard and shiny, not soft and brown like those on my small Queen stockman :(

And the leaves are about as red as they get, soon it will be a huge mess :)

Yay, after two weeks of waiting it arrived.
I always thought about modifying the pen blade on my white owl into a coping blade, but was afraid it would be on the short side. Since the Outlaw has a longer pen, I pondered for a while. Eventually I found the courage to disfigure a perfectly fine brand new knife.

Absolutely no regrets...

You are welcome Sturzi. Bumping this to the next page for you :)

Hey sturzi, that's a seriously great job on this one, looks like it came that way from the factory!

As Vic said - it really looks it was made by GEC with that coping blade. Nice work. And interessting pattern in general. :)

Nice work, Sturzi. I thought it was a special factory short run.

I too find a coping blade more useful for day to day tasks than a pen blade. As you said, it's very X-acto-like for making precision pull cuts.
