I am providing potential buyers and sellers with a warning about the user Morfiuss (aka @Morfiuss on Instagram). I don't know this person, so I'll simply stick to the facts.

I sold Morfiuss a brand new Morff 4 a couple weeks ago. The transaction originated in Instagram and was fulfilled via PayPal. I've conducted dozens of transactions (buying, selling, and trading) via IG and PayPal without issue. I have a positive reputation within the IG knife community and never had an issue with anyone. My account is @okieoutdoors. Some of you may have bought, sold, or traded with me in the past.

Yesterday, Morfiuss, filed a dispute via PayPal saying the knife was damaged when he received it over a week ago. The knife was brand new when I sent it and I provided him with several photos before we concluded the transaction. It was shipped insured (at my expense) in box and padded case (the original case that CKF puts all their knives). If it was damaged during shipment, no problem. I insure everything I ship and could file a claim if that was the case. However, he kept it a week after receiving it before reporting this and does not claim it was damaged during shipping. He is reporting that the blade and titanium scale is scratched up. That would imply the knife had to come out of the box, then get out of a padded velcro case, and get scratched. Not very likely, and it certainly wasn't damaged when I shipped it.

Now, he's trying to sell the knife to users in this forum and he's reporting the knife as "mint". No mention of damage or scratches, nor do his pictures reflect any. I have a copy of this post and will be providing it to PayPal as proof he is trying to scam me and possibly others. Proceed with caution. I don't want to see anyone else get ripped off.

Okie, I'm sure this is more than frustrating to deal with, and I'm not attempting to play "the devil's advocate" here, but is it at all possible he has more than one Morrf?

Well hopefully you have notified him of this thread so he can explain himself here.

Op this is a sad situation and sucks it happened to you. That being said coming here and starting a thread also letting mods know was a good idea what wasn't a good idea is going to the guys sales thread and posting what you did we don't do that here I know your new here but reading the rules is a good idea on any forum you join it doesn't take long just a FYI

That is a great point, ridgeline. Obviously, it's possible, but the timing seems peculiar. This is just a warning and it's not personal. There are just several peculiar issues with this transaction.

Since this post, Morfiuss has withdrawn the dispute.

Thanks for the info, gonebad395. I will review the rules. I admit, I was frustrated and in a hurry to avoid seeing someone get taken for hundreds of dollars. I have been fortunate to never have an issue like this in dozens of knife transactions. Being the first issue, I am not experienced in the best way to handle it.

As I mentioned, Morfiuss has withdrawn the dispute since this morning. I believe the issue is resolved.

The "not as described" cases and concurrent or subsequent flipping is a growing problem. Good feedback and community support are the antibodies when trust breaks down.

I hate to do something like this. As I mentioned, I've never had to do this in dozens of knife sales, purchases, and trades. Sadly, I've seen several people get ripped off by a few bad seeds in the community.

That said, Morfiuss and I have spoken and he has withdrawn the dispute. The Morff 4 I shipped was in brand new condition - never sharpened, never carried, and sat in a padded case the entire time I owned it. What was done to it after the buyer received it is his responsibility and I won't get in the way of him selling it as long as the transaction is not being disputed. New buyers can make their own decision regarding the condition of the knife. I'll remove my response from his sale post. I apologize for breaking any rules of the forum. That was not my intent.

Did he give a reason why he started the dispute? Is there any reason why he shouldn't be placed on everyone's ignore list?

In the dispute he stated the blade and scales were damaged when he received it. However, the knife was signed for on May 17th and he filed that claim last night. What happened to it between May 17th and last night is not the responsibility of a seller. I don't have control over what he does with it. I even covered insurance to ensure we both were protected if there were shipping issues and there were no shipping issues. He didn't report that it was a shipping issue, either. Instead, he reported that I shipped a damaged knife. That is simply not true. Then, I find his post here that he posted AFTER filing the dispute against me. That's a little sketchy, in my opinion. If I receive a damaged knife I'll return it to the seller. I wouldn't file a dispute against them and then try to sell it.

Regarding the question about blocking him...I'll leave that to you to decide. I won't conduct another transaction with him.

What I'm curious about is that you said you and he have spoken and he has withdrawn the dispute. Did he explain himself at all? You don't have to answer, I'm just curious if there's any explanation he gave for his behavior that would in any way redeem him.

Still a good warning to others. Yes, he may have two of the same knife, but if he was selling a different blade than the one he purchased, why did it take him a week to respond about the supposed scratches? Why didn't he reach out to the OP for a refund initially? From how the events played out, sounds like he wanted his money back and then tried to make a little more by flipping that knife. Glad the dispute was withdrawn (hand caught in the cookie jar so-to-speak).

To those members, especially the new folks, this is a great place to learn and share and chat and it takes a little while to build up a good reputation. But, it only takes a single incidence such as this to bring that reputation crumbling down. Even though thousands pass through this site, the knife community is smaller than you might think

Thanks for the heads up okieoutdoors!

Please note that I'm not passing this as new. It has been re-sharpen and the handle bead blasted. As for the dispute. It was placed when I did not receive communication from the seller. It has since been dropped because the seller has responded as you can all see. I'm not trying to scam anyone and wanted to resolve this with the seller through the proper means.

No explanation provided. He was upset that I posted this online, but that was his only complaint. That says a lot.

I don't know him and he may be a good person in a bad situation, but the way he chose to handle this was entirely too sketchy. I am disappointed that I had to experience this, but it could have been worse. Sadly, I know of people that have lost very expensive knives to scenarios like this. Also, if I had received a damaged knife, I would have immediately contacted the seller and promptly repackaged it for return. I would not have taken the time to sharpen it, post pics of it on IG (without any mention of damage - just showing off a new knife), and then post it for sale on a different outlet (here, rather than IG) after filing a dispute.

Now that the dispute is closed, I'm ready to put this behind me. I'd much rather talk about knives than sketchy transactions. :)

Nope you are passing it off as mint condition. So mint and new aren't the same thing ? Please elaborate on this I can't wait for this explanation.

I mean that is your sales thread correct selling your not new mint knife right ?
