Warning: Dishonest buyer/seller Morfiuss

Morfiuss, as i mentioned to you directly, I was traveling yesterday. I responded to you first thing this morning. Plus, I saw that the knife was delivered on May 17th. If there is an issue, contact me asap after receiving it and give me a chance to reply and address the issue. I know what condition the knife was in when it was shipped and there was absolutely no damage. It was brand new. If there were shipping issues, you knew it was insured and we could have filed a shipping claim. However, you didn't do that. Instead, you chose to sharpen it, bead blast it, post photos of it on IG, then you tell me it is damaged and you file a dispute. And, sketchiest of all, you post it for sale AFTER filing the dispute. You don't do that if the knife was really damaged. You contact the seller immediately and return it, or work something out. You don't alter the knife and try to sell it to someone else. Your actions are what is sketchy. That's not my opinion, it's simply a fact. That course of action is not what a normal, honest person would have done.

You might want to quote him in the sales thread to memorialize it in the case that the seller chose to delete the sale thread.....

PayPal dispute wasn't filed for 2 weeks according to okieoutdoors. morfiuss, did you try to contact the seller within those 2 weeks & he didn't reply? When did okieoutdoors not communicate with you? From the way I'm reading the whole thing, dispute was filed out of the blue after 2 weeks.

morfiuss, you're saying the knife you're selling isn't new, but resharpened & bead blasted. Is that the knife you purchased from okieoutdoors? Are you saying that okieoutdoors did not sell a new knife as described? Are you trying to sell the knife that okieoutdoors sold to you while you had filed a dispute with PayPal over same knife?

Curious that you don't accept PayPal Goods & Services for payment but yet you use it to pay & take advantage of the benefits it provides.

Does seem a little shady. There was no mention of bead blast and resharpened in the for sale add

I think it is interesting to note that most of the dishonest knife traders on the forums, primarily like to deal in the high end expensive, fancy looking folding knives. I just haven't seen the same amout of dishonesty surrounding fixed blade knives.

Oh 10after10 don't be confused this guy reaks of bad news everything posted stinks of scammer. His sales post time lines and refused payment of goods and services lays the question to rest for me.

Why would you charge your buyers insurance to CYA? Insurance is to protect the seller when they ship an item in no way should the buyer be expected to pay for insurance ..

That's because guys that are into high end folders are fancy pants, shady, city slickers. Guys that like fixed blades are honest, down to earth, country boys. :D

If it is F&F it is not a sale. There is no seller or buyer. There is nothing to insure.

Spartan00, I always cover insurance to protect me and the buyer from loss or damage to the knife due to shipping. If it's lost, I will refund buyers money and file a claim to recover the cost of the knife. Not every seller does that. I don't see that as a negative or CYA issue. It's just a small measure to protect both parties.. I know that I always appreciate a seller shipping a knife I purchased insured for the purchase price. This isn't a business for me, it's a hobby. Albeit, an expensive, addictive hobby. :)

Not you the other guy. When you sell the buyer is not benefiting from insurance you as the seller are . The seller if he chooses to insure a package should pay for it because it's your benefit not the buyer. Say you sold me a knife why should I cover insurance to cover you in case your knife is damaged to me . If the knife is damaged buyer gets a refund if the seller bought insurance then seller files an insurance claim otherwise seller gives buyer back purchase price

I was talking about the ad in the screens hot I agree and see what your saying, it just aggravates me when sellers say insurance is extra when it's for their benefit. Buyer is protected anyway if you go through the proper PayPal if seller chooses not to insure that's on them the buyer is protected as long as they don't gift or friends and family the money

Am I missing something? From what I can read, okieoutdoors covered the cost of insurance. When did he charge the buyer?

Nevermind, I read your answer to the same questions.

I'm not talking about op (okieoutdoors) I should of been clearer seller (morfiuss) is who I'm griping about with his extra insurance line among other things wrong here

Another note to be aware of, and an issue I ran into recently, is that fact that his sales thread states the item will only be insured for $100 and any extra costs the buyer more. It is still the seller's responsibility to get the sold item to the buyer, so only insuring for less the 1/2 of the value of the knife is simply stating that he does not want to pay the extra $$ to fully insure it. This alone would have me skip this thread.

I had a seller claim recently "I boxed it up and did everything that I could to do, if it gets lost then it is not my fault". That item (thankfully) arrived, but in a thin, ripped envelope (which is far from doing "all that [he] was suppose to do", especially for a >$500 knife). Folks, just include the cost of insurance in your asking price (or pay them yourself, since insurance is meant to protect the seller) and avoid the headache of a potentially lost item. Paying with PP G&S and that item does not arrive to me, I am in my right to file that it never arrived, and now the seller is out the item and the payment. So, on such an expensive knife, is it worth losing so much for just a few bucks more of full insurance?

Obviously 1) deceiving in the condition, he contradicts himself by saying it's mint in the original posting and then saying it was sharpened and beadblasted in follow up comments

2) Even IF he had 2, he is trying to rip off okieoutdoors with his damaged one while simultaneously selling the new one he got from okieoutdoors on BF

3) He's trying to break paypal terms and conditions by refusing to accept G&S in a transaction involving GOODS

Mods? Can we get someone to step in here and ban him?
