There's a knife enthusiast at the top of my Christmas list this year.

He loves Spyderco knives! Any suggestions on the best one around? I'd really love to surprise him with a very thoughtful gift.

Perhaps it's YOU! So let's hear it... what's on your Christmas list, boys?

xoxo,

The new Stretch II. Carbon fiber handle, flat-ground ZDP-189 blade, sturdy yet slim and light. And odds are, he doesn't have one yet unless he's a Collector's Club member. ;)

endura 4, plain edge, stainless steel handle vg-10 blade. solid hunk o'steel!

That newfangled Stretch is going to be hard to beat. Otherwise, the Kiwi and Kopa series are great, because they look nice and are limited by virtue of their production.

Also, the embellished models that Santa Fe Stoneworks does are very nice, and would make nice gifts.

I have a Mini-Manix too and it's a great knife. The Native III is very popular and quite a bit less expensive than the Manix.

I don't have a Delica yet, but it's on my list for a reasonably priced lightweight edc folder.

By the way, it's nice that you are considering making your knife lovers day with such a thoughtful gift.

The Caly 3 in VG-10 steel. You can get it around 100 dollars and it is arguably one of the best every day carry knives Spyderco has ever made.

which ones does he have already?

ZDP-189 Endura gets my vote :) oh and if you want him kissing you behind alll year, sent it to Tom Krein to have it flat ground

Depending on the available cash, I would suggest the Stretch II CF ZDP-189 as the superwopper, the Manix as a very nice and big present (it is going to be discontinued, so there is only limited amount of time) and finally the ZDP-189 Endura. Just my $0.02.

AnyONE AND everyONE has appeal to someONE. Some people want to peel their apples and others want to cut up 5 cardboard boxs per day. Some need teeth and some are afraid of teeth. What we want isn't relevant to him. Tell him that YOU want a knife with a hole in the blade for christmas. That would be a present. :D If you have seen him ogling a specific model (knife not women), then that would be a good choice. ;d

Chinook 3 or Civilian are nice(I'm drooling over those two choices myself right now), or the Manix/Mini Manix are cool too.

If you can find one, the Military model with BG42 blade and Carbon Fiber handles is a great knife.

I really don't know exactly what they're for? Collector's items? To impress his friends? To freak me out? If I have to see something called a "Spyder Drop" in my home one more time, I'm sure I'll have a nervous breakdown... but we women put up with much for the look of joy when the UPS man brings those new toys.

He has 2-3 Spydercos now. I'm pretty sure at least 1 is a Delica. I know he's not crazy about serrated blades. He uses them for everyday carrying purposes I guess. I think he likes around 3.5" blades? I don't want to give too much about him away, but he sure likes Al Mar styles too, if that helps?

Thank you everyone for your advice... It's been very helpful and entertaining! Keep it coming!
