Warranty Issues

Well don't suffer from premature disappointment. You have heard one side of a story, it is only fair to hear the other side.

I doubt either Taz or Sal will have time to look at any forums this weekend, due to Blade.

In any event; once it does get looked at, it will take some time to track down the events, which will of course require the OP to cooperate with Spyderco so they can look into it.

Time will tell.

Good point, Zen. We'll just have to wait and see.

Spyderco made a concious decision a few years ago to "widen their tolerances" on what is acceptable for lock back knives.

Hey there skid mark, I was wondering when you would enter the fray. I'd like to see some evidence of Spyderco's conscious decision to lower their quality standards. Let us know what you know, oh you killer of kings. :jerkit:

Slatts, what are the heck are you doing?

Now we're gonna have to hear all about Brownshoe's Terzuola and Harpy all over again, and then he's gonna try to extort another Terzoula from Sal, not realizing that Spyderco doesn't have any new Terzuolas right now, at which point he'll pretend that he's got integrity and make a big diplay of shooting down Sal's kind offers.

It's not like it hasn't happened before!;)

1. Up and down play in the lock back.
2. The locker bar not being flush in closed and/or open position.

I noticed these very issues with my endura that I purchased earlier this year.Of the five that I had looked at the dealers shop, all had a somewhat fair amount of vertical play and some other cosmetic issues, what ???, I can not remember.
I just selected the best specimen that could since they allowed this.Even though I tried to do my best,I later noticed with the knife opened that the lock bar was not quite completely flush with the handle.
But anyway, I did purchased an endura since,I did not have any experience with VG-10,the knife was price right and being that I was still very new to Spyderco products.I decided to give them a try.The only product of their that I had before was a ladybug of seven years.

All I can go by are my experiences with Spyderco customer service. It has been awhile now, but I have had three dealings with Spyderco CS and every one of them was handled in a way that put Spyderco at the top of my favorite knife company list. I couldn't have gotten better service.

ive had 2 customer service issues; 1 with tops knives(top notch), and one with spyderco( not as good) i still think spyderco is top shelf sometimes these things happen. im not sure what to think about "shiney footprints" if it was my company i would want both barrels, unfiltered, no b.s., give me your best shot, oppinions. i think this would be best for the industry.

You don't understand Shiny Footprints at all. It relates to fans of Spyderco not running around bad mouthing other companies just for the sake of perceived injustices. Spyderco obviously allows legitimate complaints to be aired. Not all companies are as open.

Here I'll boil it down by snipping out the trim and bolding the key to the whole message:
...snip...Much of the hostility seems to be centered around the "round hole issue".

...snip...

I am asking you to pull any tag lines or comments that could be percerived as hostile or antagonistic to other companies in the knife industry, while on our forums.

...snip....

Just received a new D4 G10 from NGK, and I am fully satisfied. Thanks guys!

It was dull out of the box which is strange for Spyderco, but after some TLC from a sharpmaker it is now wicked sharp. :D

I am happy everything worked out for you. I plan on snagging one of those myself when the funds show up again..... :D
